Apparently all my other shit to do today was not as important as trawling tumblr for Glee links.

→ Being as I am on my period this week, this tumblr is my new best fucking friend. (It's not really NSFW, but you might want to treat it that way anyway.)

► FARMVILLE:
→ ....wh-what? Zynga may soon allow us to breed sheep with our friends? HOLY SHIT, DO WANT. I'm skeptical of this, because a lot fewer people will buy the special ( Read more... )

Your delight makes me want to go back and watch the ep again. I was so transfixed by some of the things bugging me (holy shit, did Groff look old; and Blaine, no you cannot "jam" with New Directions--ugh, I wish he and Kurt weren't busy being in looooooooove so Kurt could tell him off for being so self-centered just one more time) that I think the sparkle of the great things (EVERYTHING YOU MENTIONED EVER) was a little lost to me.

And oh, how I agree with you on the Colbert/Fallon/Hicks "Friday." A-mazing. Though I also love it when Salling can ham it up and make ridiculous faces.

This is definitely one of those episodes that I'm glad I was spoiled for a lot of things ahead of time, so that I didn't get too caught up in the details, and instead just... rolled with it, making it a lot more fun. I wish all Glee nonsense could be like this! It's so much better when I don't care about the logical things!

I kind of wanted to harp on Rachel picking THAT SONG to sing at PROM, like, seriously, who chooses that song to sing to a bunch of teenagers dancing? And Blaine suddenly being part of New Directions... why? But, whatever. It's Glee. Don't think about it, don't think about it, don't think about it!

I actually listened to the Colbert/Fallon/Hicks/etc. version so much that I just had to download an mp3 of it and play it on repeat for, like, a week straight. Glee will never measure up to that--but I think I do want to rewatch the episode just for some of those crowd scenes to pick up the details I missed. Either that or go through a million gif posts on tumblr.

HA! Yeah, I haven't quite mastered the not thinking part quite yet. But I'm working on it. I think when I crack that particular code, I'm probably going to see the face of TV God.

(don't talk about how HUGE and THEATRICAL the faces were during "Rolling in the Deep"...just...let it go)

Okay, let's list our favorite things about the Colbert/Fallon/Hicks version:

1) The way Colbert enunciates "cereal"
2) Fallon autotuned to here and back, clearly having the time of his life goofing off
3) Hicks blowing those nonsense harmonica notes during "Partyin', partyin', yeah!" I have managed to avoid all seasons of AI, but the overenthusiasm for Hicks and his style of singing will probably always make me laugh really hard.

I haven't quite seen the face of TV God yet, but only because I have a background in comic books. It makes it easier to just turn off parts of my brain before I reach total brain meltdown stages. (Which Glee very nearly gave me in s1. It was hard, not being able to figure the show out, it gave me genuine cognitive dissonance sometimes.)

Favorite things about the Colbert/Fallon/Hicks version!!:
1) I love Stephen singing so very seriously and dramatically about choosing a bus seat2) Every time they get to the rap part of the song ( ... )
