I wish more people were doing recs, too! Well, there are a fair amount of people doing them in western tv fandoms, but almost no anime/manga (or gaming) fandoms! I suppose there are some people on delicious, which I do appreciate and use a lot, but it's so much harder to navigate when looking for new recs. I really wish more people would do recs on lj--it's not that hard! Sometimes even just, "Hey, I liked this!" and a link, you guys!

Oh, christ, that's going to be annoying. Well, at least I know about it ahead of time and can plan for it. I remember the last time I had to battle those four (and I think you had to battle Lance/Wataru without saving, too?) and it's like. AT LEAST YOU COULD SAVE BETWEEN MATCHES, even if you couldn't go heal yourself. And those four are always absolute fuckers the first few times around. >_<

I've always viewed recs as a way to inject a lot of positive energy into fandom, especially when things get so negative sometimes. I understand that the complaining and being angry have their place sometimes, but... can't we balance that out with some happy? If I could make one rule in fandom, it would totally be: You should put out as much positive attitude as you do negative attitude. Recs are a great way to do that!

It's not always easy to write fic, some people just aren't meant for it. But everyone can do picspam or just happily talk about their favorite things or seek out what good stuff already exists, even if it's a small, underappreciated ship you like. Even if no one else is listening right away, I find that sticking with a fandom long enough, you'll start catching some attention, especially if it's obvious that you're joyful about it. Plus, hey, it's an awesome way to promote the things you like and the shows you watch and the ships you like!

I'm hoping so! Because I really do want to rec some of the gorgeous R-18 art around, but not if it's going to get anyone in trouble by having it on their dash at work! (But it's so pretttttyyyy! And who doesn't enjoy porn in their fandoms??)

I just realized that the first question could have been kind of ambiguous--I meant it as in, "You can only ship three pairings, go!" but it also sounds like, "You're trapped and need the help of three of them, go!" So... either one you want to do, really. XD

I always like reading your thoughts on shoujo/magical girl anime/manga (You always give me food for thought, and you are pretty awesome and thoughtful pretty much all the time!) and can I just say "YES. THAT is why magical girl serieses are awesome, that is why they're amazing and I will never be ashamed of loving them a lot." Thank you for that!
