They list this ANN article (which also links to this article) and they say it'll be published bi-monthly (wait, so is that twice a month or once ( Read more... )

I REALLY REALLY WANT IT TO BE TRUE. SO BAD. I don't expect miracles with such an old fandom, but WHY HAS THIS NOT HAPPENED YET? (Now the only thing left is my ~*IMPOSSIBLE DREAM*~ of a new anime based on the manga. *__*)

I REALLY REALLY WANT TO OWN THIS ONE, SO PLEASE LET IT BE A REASONABLE PRICE AND LET MORE PEOPLE READ THE MANGA. IT WOULD MAKE ME HAPPY, UNIVERSE! (And 2011 seriously needs more happy, jesus.)

If nothing else, it'll mean more people in the fandom having access to a better quality version? (At least one hopes so.) And maybe we can start getting people to talk about it and write fic about it. I want to just be able to read it most of all, but! Having an actual fandom again would be so much fun, too! *____*

It's a little hard to fandom something that's been around for so long and there's no real new material, but I feel like a lot of people haven't gotten into the original version that much. I mean, goodness, I've been into the fandom for years now and there's still a lot of the original I haven't properly seen/read yet!

It's also a little hard to get into the fandom because it's certainly huge, but not a lot of it is good. There's so much dub fic on FFNET to wade through (oh, what I wouldn't give for the option to be able to filter those out!) and so many people write with memories of the dub's tone (which you can tell) and that puts even more people off, I suspect. And not easy access really isn't helping, either.

And yes! I've been watching the revival in Italy and it seems to be going well! They're getting all sorts of new material (including a ds game that makes me seethe with envy, omg!) and I really, really hope it does well enough for Toei to consider doing more ( ... )

Bi monthly is once every other month, I think? If it was twice a month, it would be bi weekly

I've seen it used to refer to twice a month (which I've also seen as bi-weekly) and, last time I tried to look it up, I swear I read that both were basically acceptable? SO I'M ALWAYS CONFUSED. But it looks like every other month, yeah. Which means two years for the whole thing to come out, but, whatever! THAT IS NOT THAT LONG COMPARED TO THE WAIT UP UNTIL NOW.

According to the internet, usually bi monthly means every other month when in a publishing context!

Bimonthly is once every two months! And I doubt they'll use the original Mixx/Tokyopop translations; afaik, they'd have to pay Tokyopop to use said translations, and this is the "extended edition" which has new/different material than the original BSSM run. (Plus the anime is loooong OOP in the USA, so idk why they'd use the dub names.)

OMG I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS I CAAAAAAAAAAAN'T

SAILOR MOON RERELEASED OH MY GOOOOOD

AND CODENAME SAILOR V FINALLY DFKJHGLKFDnbvkclk

OH GOD I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG ;________________;

It makes more sense that they would do their own translations, that the current manga climate would have them use a translation closer to the original, and it's not like they're doing re-prints given that we know for sure that they're not flipping the pages this time. I'm not even going to hope for honorifics being kept intact or anything, I'm just hoping for accuracy this time. And all signs generally point towards good things!

BUT UNTIL IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS, I AM GOING TO BE SO VERY WARY. SO WARY.

(I keep thinking--so many people still have memories of the dubbed version, so they'd want to capitalize on that and a;lsdkfjaslkj I would cry okay. I would cry.)

All worrywarting aside, I AM SO EXCITED. I HAVE WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG AND IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING AND I WILL BE ABLE TO HOLD DECENT TRANSLATIONS IN MY HAND AND LOVE THEM AND CHERISH THEM FOREVER.

(I-- I have been so obsessed with Sailor Moon lately, it's like 2011 is trying to make me happy! Or FINALLY starting to make up for all the suck! KEEP IT UP, OKAY, 2011.)
