Day two of my anime blogging project! I am at 14 episodes now! o/

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi 01-02: I believe I have found the second series I'm going to actively look forward to this season! I tried to go into this series without too many expectations and that strategy usually works well for me, this series included. Is it going ( Read more... )

I quite liked Ghost Hunt actually o/ The anime follows pretty closely to the novels I believe, except they stopped short of animating the last two novels which are like. The climax of the story, so lol :(

I'm hoping that I warm up to it, that it was just a slow start for me, because there's definitely potential there. And why do they do that? I know that sometimes the novels are still on-going and all that, but--! So frustrating--! (Are the novels at least translated/summarized somewhere?)

They were written pretty long ago so I don't think they are still ongoing (although the author did mention something about revisiting one of her old horror works and I'm hoping that it's Ghost Hunt o/). The manga series does cover up to that arc though and I think it's available in English?

I actually started translating the last couple of novels but then i gave it up in favour of translating epic j-fen den-o porno instead

Ah, even better! I haven't been reading as much manga as I'd like lately, but if I get invested in a series, it'd be easy enough to pick it up for the conclusion.

It surprises me how many series she has, though, I have to be honest. I REALLY WANT AN ENDING TO JUUNI KOKKI ALREADY THE MOST. ;___;

Also, I do believe you made the right choice there. :|b

Ghost Hunt is absolutely hands-down one of my favourite manga series and anime adaptations ever. I hate to say this to anyone, but don't give up until you've seen about 3 or 4 episodes - the first arc is hella boring but the characters and story start becoming more interesting as the episodes go on and because each arc spans between 2 and 5 episodes you get a real sense of a mystery unfolding in front of you.

Also Mai is amazing, Naru is fabulous, Bou-san is gorgeous and the priest (not sure if you've met him yet) is Australian. Number of Australian characters in anime/manga series ever: LESS THAN THREE.

I hope you like the rest of the series! ♥

That's pretty much what I wanted to hear! I found the first episode rather slow, but it started picking up a little by the second half! Yet... I'm used to really explosive series or ones that get the lead out immediately, so I was wavering a little. I am totally willing to put in around three to six episodes to see if it pans out, though.

I'm especially glad to hear that the anime adaptation is a good one, since I'm still in that whole anime >>>> manga (in terms of what I'm in the mood for) place right now.

I mean, ghost stories! I love ghost stories! THERE SHOULD BE MORE GHOST STORIES AND HORROR ANIME OUT THERE! :|b

I'm glad to hear that! I liked it well enough, but I wasn't sure it was really going to suck me in and not let me go, like a lot of series have been doing lately. (That's always when I get into trouble with keeping up with anime--picking out a bad series and doggedly staying with it even when I shouldn't. XD)

But I'm totally willing to sit through a slow start if it's going to keep establishing everything it needs to along the way! o/

(I have missed having a good, spooky/scary anime to watch! I LAMENT THAT I HAVE NO MORE HIGURASHI. Or that the Umineko anime didn't live up to it.)

Hi! ♥ I'm very glad you like the site and glad you stopped by to say hello!

But also, Ookami-san! It's just so charmingly entertaining and Ringo is all kinds of adorable, for serious! I love her character design, but it's when she gets that particular gleam in her eye or interferes in Ryouko's love life that I love her the most! And the narrator! It works because even the narrator isn't immune to Ryouko's glare, even though she KEEPS MAKING COMMENTS. XD

I love how well Ringo really knows Ryouko and Ringo is one of the big reasons I'm okay with the Ryoushi/Ryouko relationship, because... if Ringo approves, there must be something there! (And it does seem like Ryouko maybe likes him back, which I'm glad for. Because I was really worried about the whole, "He likes you and understands/sees right through you, so you're obligated to like him back!" thing, which I'm hoping Ookami-san avoids.) But that applies to anyone who would dare try to hurt Ryouko!

OH MAN YES I WANT MORE ON URASHIMA AND OTOHIME! I might have objected to the dynamic (I'm rarely fond of the girl who can't take no for an answer and who molests the guy) but... OTOHIME. I LOVE ANYTHING WITH OTOHIME. *___*

I watched Ghost Hunt with the university's anime club, and maybe because it was with a group of people, but some of the arcs of Ghost Hunt were full of fun terror. It picks up more later though it tries to keep a pseudo-"this is a ghost investigation!" feel that adds some slow.

Things to keep in mind: creepy dolls and haunted Winchester House-like places are things that occur. 8|b

I've just gotten to the one with the creepy doll. .___. I-- I definitely have a weakness for anime series with creepy dolls, somehow Japan is really good at them, and the show is picking up right around this point, too. I can't say it's genuinely terrifying, but it's definitely (like you said) fun terror.

Plus, Mai is kind of a great lead character, so I have great fondness for her already.
