I have figured out how to abuse the Paradigm Shifts in the game, which makes things a lot easier; if you time it right, you don't have to wait for the ATB gauge to fill between attacks, and can basically just fly back and forth without wait time which really bolsters the stagger gauge for the enemy. There's a part coming up where you'll probably struggle hardcore with the battles because the Sazh/Vanille team is hopelessly terrible at actually getting any fighting done. It gets better, but it's ROUGH for awhile. Lightning is a tank when you get her in Commando mode.

Still hate half my party, but that's pretty on-par with me and FF games, since I usually only have like 2 characters that I really like in any large capacity lol. ♥

Oh, god, the Sazh and Vanille fights. I am getting really tired of this game fucking with my party dynamics. Like, I get that it's keeping things fresh and all, but apparently Sazh + Vanille = THE WORST COMBINATION EVER. SERIOUSLY. I was sailing through the game, only occasionally ever getting 4 starts, almost always getting 5 stars and NOW I AM LUCK TO GET THREE. GETTING NONE IS A COMMON THING.

I think I've started to get the hang of them, but I'm just not used to what they call shit. Like, what the hell is a "synergist"?? But I think I finally figured out that you need to put Sazh in synergist mood, have him boost both your characters, then flip them both over to ravager, and go to down on the enemies, making sure not to kill one side too soon before the other, make sure you hack away at both sides ( ... )

lol I only really liked 3 characters in FFXII so I'm actually exactly on track with how that game went! I'm usually fine with that- 3 of 6 is better odds than liking 2 of 8 like in FFX. How I miss the games where I liked everyone in my party like FFIV and Chrono Trigger. ;_____; Now I feel like so many of the characters have fallen into "typecasting" standards which sucks.

Unfortunately, I'm on vacation next week so I won't be playing anymore! I'm only about 9 hours in and the last 2 hours have been spent ENTIRELY leveling up lol.

I was probably easier on FFXII because it was one of my first games, so I was pretty OMG I LOVE GAMES I LOVE THEM ALLLLLL but they really kind of grew on me after awhile. But I'm also easily influenced by who makes a good fighter in my party--if you help me kill a lot of shit, I will love you even if your voice/style is terrible.

You'll probably be about on track with where I am in a couple of weeks then--I am a HORRIBLY SLOW player. orz I think I only just crossed the six hour mark this morning. I am really not liking the partial leveling cap thing going on, I WOULD LIKE TO CHOOSE HOW OVER-LEVELED I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T BE, SQUARE.

I grabbed HeartGold because it seems like EVERYONE is getting SoulSilver, with the idea that this way I could trade if necessary, but... I KIND OF WANT TO GET SOULSILVER TO BE ONE OF THE COOL KIDS. ;__;

I-I grabbed HeartGold first, then cancelled my order so I could order both and then bought SoulSilver because it was cheaper on Amazon. )8 DO YOU WANT TO TRADE??
