I like Dick being a teacher a lot and working with the GCPD. I do love seeing how he does a lot of things differently than Bruce and I adore that. It's just the bad scary villain intimidating moments that kind of make me roll my eyes. Which is why I've been glad that there haven't been that many SCARY BATMAN GROWLY moments so far.

And, yeah, Azrael is now Michael Lane and Nicieza's writing isn't bad, it's just... I'm pretty sure that Azrael, as a concept, is the most boring thing ever and nobody can make him interesting. I'm only reading because I hope there are more cameos. AND NICIEZA. I HAVE A WORD CRUSH. ♥
You know what I wish there was more of? (But understand why there isn't.) Dick making really silly/hilarious quips while they're fighting, like he used to. I understand that he's trying to make people think it's the same old Batman, so he can't do it right away, but I miss that. I wish he'd have a little more fun with this whole thing again.

You were supposed to skim the tie-ins. They're... kinda boring. Except for the two pages that Dick and Babs show up in. (Definitely worth skimming for! Nightwing fighting with a sword! Other than that... Azrael is still boring.)
And I dunno about you, but if I were babysitting Damian? I'd be making quips all the time just to see if I could get the kid to crack a smile and, you know, retain some sanity in my crazy, mixed-up life. On the other hand, I guess I can buy it because, you know, HIS DAD JUST DIED, Dick's earned some emo mainpain time.
Just because it's my fault doesn't make you any less FOREVER WRONG, though. u__u

Honestly? I suspect there are times when Dick wants to laugh at Damian's audacity/attitude. Like he's amused by some of the stuff that comes out of the kid's mouth rather than offended. (At least it's more amusing for me to read it that way.)

It seems like you may have, yeah. It's... not worth much more than that. (I'll be curious to see what you think of the 80 page giant, though.)
I totally think you'd HAVE to develop a reflex of being amused at some of the stuff Damian says or else you'll drive yourself nuts. Plus, Dick (once he has a little time to right himself after Bruce's death) is totally the type to see the humor in the situation.
(I really wish the Titans would come around a little more often, you know they'd find that whole situation HILARIOUS. Omg imagine Damian and Kory in the same room!)

One day I will take home my comic books and read them. It's an interesting and strange idea, I admit.
... okay so there's a part in Streets of Gotham where you can interpret Dick's line a billion different ways but I choose to interpret it as him trying not to burst out laughing at Damian and it just reads so much better.
Imagine when Damian finds out Kory is Dick's ex? He'd be all, "I didn't know Grayson had it in him." =P

I totally agree with this approach! Especially so because I find myself constantly bursting out into laughter at Damian. I swear, someday Dick is going to hang that kid up on a coat hook and leave him there just so Dick can get five minutes' peace and quiet. (And probably tie him up in a straight jacket and call it "training".)
Imagine when Kory beats the snot out of the little shit, too! It'd be beautiful. ♥

You just see this red and green blur go flying through the air and Dick just facepalms. And Wally slaps him on the back. And offers to introduce Damian to Bart.

AHAHAHAHA oh man. I know you mentioned Damian with the Teen Titans before, but the whole thing just sort of exploded in my brain all over again. Damian would mock Cassie and Kon's uniforms for being dumb. He'd just mock EVERYTHING of Kon's. And then BART AND DAMIAN IN THE SAME ROOM. ILU.
The Titans would be beautiful, too. Donna would try to be nice and Damian would just bite her hand off. Roy and Wally would find Damian HILARIOUS. Roy would be all NO WAY IN HELL is that little shit meeting Lian, though.
