(I think I'm back on track with this one now? Or maybe I'm still one day behind.)

Anyway, I didn't expect to write more than one AkiUme fic and this one started out as what was just supposed to be a short, single scene, but... well, then it kind of grew a little. So, it's counting as two ficlets.

There totally should be an epic about Akiha's mom, except it shouldn't be over the top angst or anything, because he's not the type. (And also Umeda would be so digusted with him that he wouldn't stand for it. XD) And then there should be tea and cookies with Seira.

I did figure it out! only then I came to Japan and SUPPOSEDLY there's a wireless network on this campus but I have yet to find it. >O

I like the way that Hokuto is absolutely not worried at all about Akiha's emotional well being and thus kind of suffers in silence until Akiha brings it up himself (takes pity on him?)

Oh, man, I've had some conversation threads/posts bookmarked for months, you're considerably ahead of me then. XD

From all his interactions with Mizuki, we can see that Umeda cares a lot about the people in his life and he listens/has good advice, but he doesn't coddle people or help out in the usual way. People's problems are their own to work out, even if he has to work really hard at (and still fail at XD) being detached about the whole thing.

I love Umeda a lot for exactly the reasons you said--he's so smart and yet so emotionally retarded sometimes. ♥
