I had a whole bunch of people in the last few days tell me it was really stupid to try to go into DC for the inauguration because it would be crowded and cold and I wouldn't be able to see anything and I wouldn't be able to get home. Well, SUCK IT. Because IT WAS AWESOME. AND IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT

It totally was awesome and they should absolutely suck it!

I went, walked, it wasn't that cold and it was worth every second of frustration (getting out of the Mall mainly). I've been to previous inaugurations but this one was simply amazing, a lot of fun, and the energy in the crowd was amazing. I truly don't understand people that live nearby and didn't go or left town. Why??? History is happening on your doorstep! There was no way on earth I was going to miss it!!!!!

So glad you were able to be there! I went down to the Mall too, was over to the side of the Washington Monument, and it was stunning and fabulous and caused me to happy-dance. Agreed like whoa re lots of work to do, but what a way to get started! Glad you got home safe and the Metro didn't implode on itself too. :)

Freezing winds and crowds were nothing compared to walking in and just being there. That was so unbelievable.
