Massive catch-up babble - movies and TV

I did what I said I wasn't going to on Friday night and went to see Thor for a second time this morning in IMAX. Friday it was just after work and if I wanted to get to the theater on time I didn't have much of a choice as far as 2D or 3D, so I went with 3D. Which I promptly forgot once I got into the theater (very long day at work), and thus ( Read more... )

For me the issue with The Borgias is that I find all the political stuff really boring. So whenever we get a scene dealing with like the French king or whatever, I am bored out of my mind. But I do love Cesare and Lucrezia and all the other main characters, so I keep watching.

Game of Thrones continues to be awesome, but mostly I'm just looking forward to the last few episodes of the season because, having read the book, I know it will be EPIC and I will be shaking and crying and ;alkjdsf;sjfdk;. But I do also love a lot of the characters. Ned and Catelyn and Arya and Tyrion especially.

Also, I totally agree with you re: Caroline and Tyler. THEY ARE SO SWEET TOGETHER. I was grinning all through their scene on the couch in last week's episode. AMAZING. And John's letter brought a tear to my eye.

In theory, I like all the political stuff. In practice, for whatever reason, it's not really working for me in The Borgias. I mean, heck, one of the reasons I do like GoT is because of the political stuff. Somehow, though, GoT pulls it all together better than The Borgias.

I was kinda mad at Tyler earlier this season, but like Caroline, I have forgiven him. They are just really good together.

I'm so looking forward to seeing the non-readers' reaction to...certain things late in the season. This is a weird situation where I'm both completely spoiled and not looking at spoilers; read the books but not looking at any info on upcoming episodes.

haha. I know exactly what you mean. I did spoil myself for episode descriptions, so I know roughly when major events are going to take place and it makes the anticipation even greater. :D

I totally agree with your points on Thor. Also, hate hate hate 3d movies (we saw Thor in 2D, thankfully) and just wish the trend would die out.

I gave up on Borgias back when I said I wasn't enjoying it. Turned out I didn't need to watch another episode to decide ( ... )
