When Susan woke up she knew instantly that those were the last calm hours she would have. Turning around to look at her alarm clock she growled softly.
"Bugger," she said and grinned. Spike was definitely rubbing off on her. But as it was she woke again ten minutes before her time. Scowling at the little numbers which innocently blinked a calming blue she turned it off and climbed ungracefully out of the bed.
Honestly, who could get out of the bed gracefully if there were two male bodies caging him or her like a prisoner. Woody always clung to her right side, being all warm and snugly while Spike took up the left side and soaked up her body heat. Sighing deeply and stretching like a cat Susan made her way into the kitchen. Flicking on the coffee maker while passing through she went over to the fridge and grabbed a bag of blood. Dumping the red liquid into a large black mug and putting it into the microwave she turned around and looked at the window.
Something was off.
Something was wrong.
Something...
"SPIKE!! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE! PRONTO!!!" She yelled through the house and didn't even blink at the 'THUMP' indicating that both vampire and human male were awake. Tapping her foot on the floor and crossing her arms in front of her chest she waited for the blond one to get into the kitchen.
When Spike slowly shuffled into the room - he looked like a toddler with his hair mussed up and his eyes still blurry with sleep (and the waaaaaaaaaay to big blue shirt he stole from Xander) - she had to fight the smile of her face.
"Morning," he mumbled without looking up. Growling softly Susan stepped next to him and turned his head to the necrotinted window.
'I have to give Becca the number from the firm,' she thought and nodded softly.
"So, Spike," she started gently.
"What do you see out there?" Her blond vampire swallowed and trembled a little but he remained silent.
"You don't know? Well, I do! I see a bike parked in my bed of roses. In the same bed of roses from which I wanted to take a few rosebuds to put into the oil. Now, you see, with that bike parked all the way in the flower bed I can't take them because they are destroyed." she said and her voice had a sad tone to it.
"I'm sorry," Spike mumbled and shuffled his feet again. Susan knew that the vampire at least felt sorry since he should have a major hangover from the party the night before. Sighing deeply and rolling her eyes - hell how often had she done that since she was roomies with the men? - she lead Spike to the table and placed the hot mug in front of him. Her coffee was ready as well and she took a long gulp from the liquid live. Nearly purring with contentment she wandered into her bedroom again. Woody was still out cold snoring away while lying sprawled on the bed.
"That man can sleep through an earthquake," she muttered and took off into the bathroom her mug never leaving her hand.
Taking a long and cold - 'I need to wake up, damn vampire hours!' - shower she slipped back into her room and dropped a wet washcloth on Woody's bare back.
The yelp echoed through the whole house and Susan laughed loudly. Grumbling lowly Woody crawled out of bed and murmured a 'Morning' while stumbling passed her to get into the shower.
Susan - who had left the faucet turned to cold - flew down the hall and into the dressing room. While she closed the door behind her she frowned at the scene of chaos in front of her.
"Okaaay," she said to herself and cautiously stepped further into the room.
"Oh bugger!" she heard Spike curse and then the blond vampire shot out of the one dresser and over to the other one. Raising one eyebrow Susan stood there and watched for a while.
"And what the hell are you doing now?" she asked and tried to get to her shirts which were currently raided by a bleached blond vampire.
"Eh, Spike, you know that those are MY shirts, don't you?" she chuckled when Spike grabbed one of the form-fitting black dress shirts and threw it on. 'I can't believe a MALE VAMPIRE is wearing MY shirts and still looks FUCKING GORGEOUS!!!' Susan turned around and banged her head against the door.
"Hun?" Spike asked and looked adorable... if it hadn't been for the fact that he was still lacking pants.
"Everything is fine, Spike," Susan said grabbing blindly for a shirt and pants and leaving the room again. Seconds later she heard the drawers being torn out and a new wave of curses.
Slipping into her clothes she stumbled back into the kitchen were a still sleepy Woody tried not to fall into his coffee mug. Grinning madly she quickly kissed him on the temple and asked:
"Are you packed already?"
'One.'
Woody turned to look at her a confused expression on his face.
'Two.'
Slowly acknowledgment seeped into the dark eyes.
'Three.'
"Shit!" And off went Woody to hunt down the rest of his clothes he needed for the conference trip. Susan sighed and claimed the coffee mug - still nearly full - for herself and turned to hunt down the phone next. She had to call Becca and ask when the boys should arrive at her place. There was only one that she felt sorry about. Booth wasn't that comfortable without Woody around but he had to be out of the house because of Eric.
Then there would be Angelus and Xander who had to stay with her because Xander apartment burned out.
"I feel like a hotel," she said to her coffee mug who choose to remain silent. Shrugging she downed the last bit of coffee and fished the phone out of the cupboard.
'Who the hell put the phone into the cupboard?'
A loud bang and two cursing voices caught her attention. It looked like Spike and Woody were in the dressing room again. Shaking her head she dialed Becca's number and waited.
"Hello..." Becca answered in a very polite manner that always made her laugh.
"Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" She asked and giggled a little.
"Hey babe, doing good, how about you?" came the answer and Susan smiled fondly. Becca and she were the best friends and they had no problem with calling each other pet-names that most would call their lover.
A loud crash had her turning around and staring at the bottom of the stairs. Woody and Spike were laying in a tangles mess.
"Actually this morning pretty good." A correct answer even though Susan didn't know if it was still the truth. Turning back around she went into the living room and then into the fun-room.
From the hall she could hear Spike swear and Woody growl quietly.
'Spike's definitely rubbing off!' She sighed and then laughed when she saw Spike racing through the living room.
"Well some of us.." Susan started before she stopped and grinned.
"Spike can't figure out what to wear for when Booth get's here. He's been changing all morning." At that moment Spike came crashing into the room.
"Well you better tell him to hurry up cause Booth should be there any minute..." Becca said and Susan nodded even though her friend couldn't see it. Walking over to the living-room she saw Spike racing up the stairs tumbling over Woody - again - and disappearing into the dressing room. Sighing she followed him and yelled through the door.
"Hurry up! Booth is going to be here within the next minutes!"
"SHIT!" came the expected answer and Susan couldn't keep herself from laughing. It was always a show when Spike tried to dress for someone.
"SUSAN!!" Spike yelled through the door and it was a tad desperate. "Where the 'ell are my bloody jeans!?"
"Why don't you check up your ass!?" She yelled back rolling her eyes and shaking her head. Woody peeked around the corner and it looked like he wanted to make sure that Spike wasn't near. Waving him through the hall she listened to Becca's laughter and her blond's desperate whining.
"Sue, please!" She smiled. Spike only called her Sue when he needed comfort.
When she didn't answer right away he started growling what made her snicker even more.
"They are in my room in the laundry basket at the end the bed!" She finally replied and moved out of the way when Spike made a dash for her room nearly colliding with the door.
'That would have been a picture.' she thought.
"Sooo that went well." Becca said and Susan moved back down into the kitchen.
"Always," Susan answered her voice dripping with sarcasm. "So I take it Angelus left too?" She said down at the counter and waited.
"Yep, all alone. Just changing the sheets on my bed." That she could hear in the background and a little evil smile crept over her lips.
"Then after I do that I have to jump in the shower." The grin got a little wider.
"Get all clean and pretty for Eric huh?" she teased and heard her friend snort.
"You know how he gets, he's gonna smell the boys on me and the bed and not be happy."
"He'd kill 'em." Yeah, Eric would definitely do that. Vampires were jealous creatures. A thing Susan noticed a long time ago when Spike got jealous over a girl she went out with.
"Oh yeah." Becca said and it sounded a little far away.... somewhere down memory lane. Taking a look at the clock Susan frowned.
"You know what time it is right?" she asked not taking her eyes from the clock.
"No..." A moment of silence.
"FUCK!" 'Exactly!' Susan thought and laughed.
"I gotta go!" She could hear Becca running into the bathroom.
"Bye my love, have fun!" chuckling softly she hung up the phone and went for her men.
Woody was still trying to get his suitcase closed with clothes sticking out to all sides.
"Ho boy," she murmured and shooed the doe-eyed man away from the suitcase which she opened again to re-pack. Ten minutes later the case closed with a satisfying 'ziiip'. Grinning lightly she turned and saw Woody pouting in his armchair. Kneeling in front of him she ruffled his hair.
"Don't worry, some day you're learning it," she smiled. 'I hope so,' she added in her mind.
Standing up again she went to find Spike when she heard the distant sound of a car pulling up to her house.
"Oh bloody hell," she growled before closing her eyes briefly. "Well then, let the fun begin!"
