BSG Fic: The name of this story is your name.

Yes, I am still refusing to acknowledge the existence of the finale. And yet, somehow I seem to have managed to produce a Caprica-centric post-finale story. It had no beta, so all mistakes or poor choices are completely mine. The point of this story is catharsis; somehow turning the stuff I hated into something I could love, so probably the ( Read more... )

bsg, caprica six, the name of this story is your name, battlestar galactica, gee thanks ellen, fic

I adore how long and reaching this feels. It's simple and direct without dragging heels. It's so deeply sad and perfect.

Oh my God... this is such a beautiful story. One of the best post-finale fics I've read, no, scratch that, one of the best BSG fics I've ever read. The awesomeness of Caprica, her fabulous thoughts, the way you've described her grief, her despair and the fact that she had to watch Gaius, their children and grandchildren and everything what came from civilisation die... horrifying. But the fragment about a history, that she got married more than once and she tried not to have any child, but when she finally did, she loved the boy so much. (And the girl, before that.)

Hera, omg. They stopped farming and teaching their children the alphabet... Such a tragic story. :( And then the religion and wars and the fact that Caprica put some things in motion. And Leoben being an apostol - WOW.

And the fact that Gaius always came back to her. <3

Wonderful job! ♥

Damn, I need a Caprica icon now ;)

Wow, thank you for such glowing feedback! I'm honoured you think the fic is that good and very glad you got something out of reading it.

Leoben as as apostle was kind of too perfect, right?

And yeah...I...had to write abotu them regressing because history says they did and also because...the finale was not hopeful to me. And I hope that this fic explains why without being utterly bleak? Bah, I'm not sure. The point is thank you for taking the time to let me know you liked it. I really appreciate that.

*finally blinks*

I'm still mostly speechless, but let's see. This story takes all of the reasons why that ending was depressing and makes them, well, completely heartbreaking still, but gorgeously fitting.

Random moments of love
-Gillies
-You do not speak for ten thousand years.
-Leoben as apostle
-Ardi and his sunglasses
-You talk about Apollo. It was all his fault. He loved the sun so much, he dedicated all your ships to it, and sent your father with them.

You say, “I was wondering when you'd get here.”

And that is how a cyclical story ends. *nods*

Yay! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. And thanks especially for letting me know what parts worked for you. I really wanted to find a way to work in the Greek mythology connection. And idiotically I was worried people would miss the significance of the final line. I should have known better! *hearts fandom*
