Never seen Hancock, but a quick trip to Wikipedia fixed that ( ... )

Hi! Thank you for leaving such detailed feedback! It's always nice to know what moments people like, and yes, the cylon eye and the fingers at 0:58 are favourite parts of mine too. (Also I'm glad you like the Scar vidlet! They should totally be everyone's OTP!)

I confess that there isn't really a very coherent narrative to this vidlet but loosely I'm suggesting that yes, it's a future-vid. Since Hancock can't die, perhaps he is waiting for the other four on Nuked Earth and will explain what happened.

I'm glad you liked the closing images. I wanted to use the heartbeat because in the vid I was kind of associating Mary with Earth in my head (the Thing that will Provide Answers about my Unknown Past but isn't Quite What I Wanted), suggesting that just as Mary came back to life (sort of), there might be a heartbeat left in Earth too?

Anyway, thanks for the great feedback! :)

I haven't seen Hancock so I'm curious as to what inspired you to do this particular crossover/choose him as the final cylon.

But I think the emotions of his confusion/restlessness really come through and matchup with the final four's feelings. I really also dug the shot of the van on the highway fading into the viper coming out of the launch tube at the 30-sec mark. I rewound and watched that tiny slice 3 times because it looked at first like you faded from the interior of a car to the interior of the viper...anyway just thought that was especially cool.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad that the emotional content comes through anyway - I'm aware a lot of people have never seen Hancock so I was trying to make it a decent experience for people who'd only seen BSG too. I'm so pleased you liked that transition. Sadly no, it's not from the inside of one vehicle to another. I wish it was, but all the shots inside the vehicle were very...well, at that point in the film it's being filmed almost as a screwball comedy so the visuals didn't fit, plus they all included Random Other Characters I didn't want dragged into the vid ( ... )

Interesting. I'll have to add it to my netflix queue. I remember thinking when I saw the promos that they looked really deceptive. Or like the movie had no idea what it was actually about/wanted to be. I'm glad to hear it was better than that (though I'm not surprised because Will Smith is pretty amazing. I really liked I am Legend and just caught The Pursuit of Happyness a few weeks ago. That guy, famous as he is, is criminally underrated.)

I confess, I largely remembered my deadly serious crack tag on account of our recent conversation, but while it's more...emo and quiet than most of my deadly serious crack which is a little more just ridiculous and yet deadly serious (if we're going to get into the vagaries of a genre I'm still not sure exists!) I do think it qualifies!

I'm so pleased that you like it and you flatter me with your compliments! :)

I totally recomment Hancock as a film - it was underrated and had a terribly misleading trailer - but I'm also pleased to know that it fit well without having seen the movie. That was one of my goals.

Glad you like the song! As you can see, this is the second of my three consecutive The National vid(let)s. Adama vid is currently under construction. ;)

I feel weirdly about this song because I love, love, love the chorus (which is what's used here) but kind dislike the rest of the song.

I LOVE Hancock as the Fifth. The mythologies and visual styles mesh to such a weird degree and I love the sense of seeking out that connection that I got from this. I wish that he could be there to explain ruined Earth to them!

Moments:
- the "click" at :58, and also when Hancock's been shot at 1:05. My stomach might have dropped just a little at that one, I like the time you spent on that scene.
- the "parking/overwhelmed" refrain from :30 to :50 or so.

Hancock is terribly underrated. Actually, I see that your Hancock tag has one for movie reactions, I might pop over there to be excited about this for a bit, if you don't mind.

OMG SOMEONE WHO'S SEEN HANCOCK! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the idea!

I'm also super-pleased that you liked the 0:58 moment - it's one of my favourite and thanks for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed it.

heads off to see what you had to say about the movie!
