very very interesting.

i was a little disappointed with it myself until reading this and thinking about some of the things you said. maybe Daala being CoS will lead to Luke's downfall? you know, she becomes another Palpatine, and Luke, in his quest to rid the galaxy of another tyrant becomes the tyrant ...

hmmm. *shrug* oh well i guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

Glad to have made it a little more interesting?

I think the thing that worries me is that the darker tones to Luke's character are interesting, but things that can't possibly go anywhere. Because there's no way they'll ever have Luke go dark and stay dark, and even if LFL would approve it, they just did that story with Jacen. So it'd be tired.

And if they had him temporarily evil that'd be cheap and tired because they already did that in Dark Empire. And because it would just be a tired cliche after all this time.

But if they ignore it, then it'll look just as bad because...they're ignoring it like they can paper over the cracks.

So on its own, it's dead interesting. But I'm worried it doesn't work in the wider context of the series/EU?

"When Jaina disabled him so thoroughly he knew he would be unable to defend himself from her final attack, he chose to use his last moment to save his daughter. Selflessly. But that doesn't mean that he became a good man. It doesn't mean that if Jaina had hesitated (and she only realised what he was doing as she was killing him), and not killed him, he wouldn't have used his next move to force-blast her to death as she feared."

"Jacen never stopped loving Allana. And never considered his love of her to be at odds with his Sith persona. That he died for her doesn't mean that he repented."

I must be honest. I found Jaina's killing of Jacen very disturbing. Just as I found Luke's killing of Lumiya disturbing. I don't care how dark or unrepenting Jacen was. I found it all disturbing.
