We-ell, Fruits Basket is presented as being a massively popular manga in Japan. Because I'm weird like that, reading such a raving line on the cover didn't exactly fill me with anticipation when I started reading it

I think that what made me not enjoy the manga all that much was 1) the art (which is mostly a matter of taste) and 2) the main-character (also a matter of taste).
Well, I've liked what little I've seen of the art. And for adolescent female leads I like Kagome, Usagi, and Miaka...
And, of course, it turns out that both Yuki and Kyo aren't the hard-boiled eggs they appear to be at first sight, since their exteriors hide an angsty, sad and looking-for-love interior, but ah well, that's *always* the case, isn't it?
Heh, that's because there are so many of us that are suckers for that "angsty, sad, and looking-for-love interior."
I don't know anything about Naruto; sorry about not being able to help you there.
No problem (((((misura))))). I think there are a couple of people on my flist who are into it. I'll just have to ask them directly.
Completely OT, I've now read the first three Sookie books, and enjoyed them so much I ordered the other two. :)

I think I noticed you mentioning that in an earlier entry, only it was the 100th post in my Friends-pages that day, so I made a note to comment at a time when I would be feeling a little less bland. (And then never did, of course. -_-;)
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed them! I've heard (in thesookieclub) that the most recent novel goes a bit (too much?) in the direction of Anita Blake, with Sookie getting a lot of boyfriend-troubles and Christian morals, but I haven't actually read that one yet, so I've no idea if 'Dead to the World' is the best place to stop. ^^;
Can I be nosy and ask if you've picked any favorites in characters or books yet?
