The Princess Bride is definitely my favorite. My husband loves Labryinth. I thought it was okay, but feel I can't fully judge since I've never made it through without falling asleep at least once. It's been ages since I saw Willow. I remember being so excited to see it when it first was on cable.
It's actually my favorite movie in general, more so than Star Wars: A New Hope, or Casablanca which both mean a lot to me. It's absolutely my favorite fantasy movie.
My husband loves Labyrinth.
Good for him!

Sorry you haven't been able to stay awake through the whole film. I adore David Bowie's Jareth, and should really have an icon for him. My favorite sequences are the masquerade ball and the final confrontation between Jareth and Sarah. As far as I'm concerned the rest of the movie is gravy, or icing, or whatever your favorite topping is.

It has to have been a while since I watched Willow given I was careful to get it upgraded from VHS to DVD, but I haven't gotten it upgraded from DVD to Blu-Ray.
Yeah, The Princess Bride is among my top 10 all-time favorite movies. So quotable and rewatchable.
I think a new Blu-Ray of Willow just came out last week. I was on Vudu, this digital service, and it was featured among the newer movies which I was surprised to see.
I like your top five, though I haven't seen Ladyhawke as many times as I have seen the others. We were just discussing 'Willow' at my Star Wars Club meeting this weekend - my friend showed it to his 9 year old daughter but she didn't seem very impressed and I think he was a little crushed.
omg looking at that page...so many of those movies...omg the memories **had to lie down**

I love Ladyhawke, but it doesn't rank second or third because, unlike Labyrinth or The Last Unicorn, I always find myself wishing I could re-score the film. I think of those five it has the most egregiously '80s soundtrack. It's so sad when the lovers are played by Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer looking stunningly young and beautiful.

Aww. I feel for him. I'd be a little crushed if I had a kid and they were unimpressed by something I loved.

*Nods vigorously.* Seriously. I opted to not add more titles than she fit on that list because that list covers a lot of ground as it is. I mean a list the includes both Conan and a Disney animated film?
Excalibur was the one that hit me. That was the film that taught my parents not to fast forward through sex scenes but to just maybe ask me to leave the room LOL. But I watched it so much...partially because the Arthur myth sucked me in, but also because it was the most sexual film I had ever seen at that age so it was fascinating to me on a whole different level. And also I adored Merlin and his kind of anxious way of talking about everything.
Wow, I’m sitting here laughing hysterically at that 80’s wonderfest of hair and remembering my own air-is-thick-with-AquaNet moments in college, lol. I also realize I’ve never seen the full movie of either Labyrinth or Legend...think I’m in need of an Amazon Prime fix this weekend!
I need to get Gundam Wing in my netflix queue. I've seen a few eps of it at college anime club, but need to watch more. My Gundam series as a kid was G Gundam.
