Title: Adjustment Period Rating: PG Words: 4,805 Summary: As Dan and Blair grow closer, Serena must go through an adjustment period involving two of the most important relationships in her life. ( Read more... )
This story is really great so far! I love it being from Serena's perspective. I feel she often gets villianized in DB fic, but I like how you show her trying to be a better person. I think you captured the dynamic between Serena and Blair so well, and then there's Dan and the twisted history between the three of them. It all feels very true. I am so very much looking forward to reading the next parts. I love your stuff so much.
Thanks for the great review. I've hated how so many stories have started to villainize Serena too. While I hated how she acted the last few episodes, I think she's too important to Dan and Blair to just dismiss as being completely self-centered and shallow.
Thanks! It's been interesting to write from Serena's POV. Dan is like my kindred spirit, so I find it easiest to get in his head. Serena's a tough nut to crack. I'm hoping to get the next chapter out next week, but real life might get in the way.
You are like a writing machine. Wow, another fic already? Not that I'm complaining off course, keep em coming!
I'm glad you wrote this, I've been itching to read/see a story from Serena's POV. I liked how you captured her confusion, hurt, acceptance of the Dan and Blair dynamic. It must be odd not being what they have in common anymore.
I like her struggled yet resigned acceptance that there might be more to Blair and Dan than friendship, however, I can't see her going swimmingly with everything as the story progresses, human beings tend to be possessive, even those as flaky as Serena.
Thanks for reviewing! I used to be a pretty prolific writer in general, then quit for awhile, and now I seem to be on this kick of making up for lost time. My day job allows very little creativity, so this is fun.
I'm glad you're enjoying Serena's POV-it definitely doesn't come as easily to me as Dan or Blair. And yes, Serena will definitely have some issues once the hypothetical becomes a reality.
Is it just me?! Or did Dan's book sound a lot like the Gossip Girl original book series, what with Dave being super brooding and smoking cigs?! Lol if that was on purpose, I bow to you. If it's already been mentioned in someone else's comment, well, I was too excited to read them all.
It's not just you. I intentionally modeled "Dave" after Dan from the books, as I imagine Inside is probably written a lot like the GG novels, with all the characters being really OTT. (I haven't actually read the books, but I've heard a lot about them and there was this description of Dan from the books on Tumblr that gave me inspiration.)
You were the first person to catch on-or at least catch on and comment. So, props to you. :)

Looking forward to the next chapter.
