i'm usually at a loss with curlers too but these ones were so easy, they were like round brushes that you just roll into your hair and then there is a plastic pin (looks like a plastic toothpick) that you just put through it to stop it from unwinding. i wore it around in my hair while doing housework (and dancing) and then blowdried it to get the heat thing working for me and let it cool for a while longer. perfect curls that (once fell into something that my hair could manage) lasted the rest of the night without any product whatsoever.
and for less than $3. although i am eager to curl my hair again (and actually leave my house, to an actual place with people) i have money riding that i will never touch them again...hah
yes, i think that you have to be patient with hair curlers. you first have to heat them up evenly and let them cool completely!! i kept wanting to take them out.. patience is a virtue ;)

the sun has gone away!!! it is so sad. my parents are going to be here in 4 days, so no beach until they leave...though we are going to alberta so i'm hoping that the sun is shining there a little bit more. :)
