Big Honking Grass Spider in my Tub Experiment

Sep 04, 2007 14:15

I had heard that the spiders you find in the tub in the morning were wandering around, fell in, and couldn't get out. My brother's mother-in-law told me they were living in the drain over-flow space.

cut for adult appreciation of spider genitalia and possible arachnaphobia of readers )

spiders, everything is a brown recluse, science, uninvited shower guests

Burning Question: Where is my guest now?

I'd be unable to think of anything else. Eeeeeeek!

Yeah, I should have taken him outside, because I find I am vigorously shaking everything out now, waiting for him to crawl out from under or in something. *bites nails nervously* That, and he might starve in here. That'd make make me a spider Mengele, experimenting on my prisoners, wouldn't it.

Spiders.....eeeek.

How big was it? Because I don't like ANY spiders, but I really hate the big massive dudes that are the size of your hand.

And I once had a centipede in my tub....I yelled at it and shot it with the shower nozzle until it went down the drain, where I can only assume it died. (can only HOPE it died, more like)

Big Hairy Spiders CRAWLING IN THE BED bec_87rb September 5 2007, 13:46:55 UTC
It was about an inch and a half, not big for other parts of the country, but for a DC area spider, respectable size. :O ( ... )

Centipedes are the ones that bite. And those suckers move FAST. They just hang out on the wall or on the floor and then they go rocketing out towards you and it's freaky.

Oh god...wolf spiders. Nobody mention wolf spiders around me. I like to vacation in Northern Michigan, but boy do I hate being around those things, especially when they get into the camper. Now that I know how bad their bite is, I'll probably fear them even more...

Oh you're not alone. My husband doesn't scare too easily, but after a weekend in The Spider Cabin, he has consistently declined all the subsequent kindly invites to use it for free. :)
