Yes!

Saw Yes! at the Warner last night after work. The line-up, since it has switched around from tour to tour, was Steve Howe on guitar, accoustic, mandolin, steel guitar; Chris Squire on bass (including a three-necked bass) and harmonica; Geoff Downs on keyboards; and Allan White on drums, if I have remembered correctly. Also, not quite the same genre, but I saw Tomfoolery with my parents a couple of years ago, and the whole audience was in their seventies. Nobody didn't have a walker or a wheelchair or at least a cane. And they were all chatting like hipsters waiting outside a show, who was a fan first, who had an autographed such-and-such, who was at what invitation only show. Adorable. :^)

Some people, some people never get too old to rock and roll. I amused a friend of mine by telling him about Movits!, because he clearly thought that adults didn't follow boy bands on the intarwebs or chat with them all impressed after the show, and then I thought, I need to grow up, don't I? :) I just think that some people do not grow out of finding the live rock experience interesting?

Yes helped me ace an exam in college, but I can't remember which classic it was that helped me channel my anxiety into neat packets of musical squirts of information. If I hear it again, i will know. It was the first time i knew i was a synethesiast, even tho I didn't know what the name of it was.

Hope D doesn't find anything "super" in those tanks. I hate that. Good wishes.

PS - some people never get too old to rock and roll. Um. Yeah (said the old lady)

So, did you play back the music in your head during the exam?

Yes, but it was totally the rhythm and chord progression that did it. I've Seen All Good People. That's the one. Move me on to any black square. All the info crammed into my beanie arranged itself into a nice little fibonacci spiral... all that info was captured (for the queen to use)

Glad to hear the YES is still rocking. They are fantastic musicians, especially Steve Howe. Glad you enjoyed it. And a great venue too.

They tore it up. In a restrained old guy way, of course. :)
