While on the subject of non-TMBG music in the podcasts, do you have any idea what that "get along home, left-wingers" thing from a few podcasts back was?
As someone who has complained somewhat about the use of old material, I have to say that I have no problem with complaining about free stuff. Obviously, since it's free, there's no reason for TMBG to pay attention to such complaints. But then, I don't know that there's any reason for them to pay attention to fan complaints even when it's material they DID pay for. Hardcore fans are often given to being somewhat critical, but our opinions are typically minority ones. Anyway, it just seems like anyone who would bother seeking out the podcasts is likely to be somewhat who's already heard all of the released material. That said, I have absolutely no problem with the occasional released track being in a podcast, as long as they fit in with the context and all that. But I prefer it when there's something more to it than that.
In re Get Along Home Left Wingers, I think Flans just has a soft spot for political stuff of the past, like the "No No Joe" about Joseph Stalin. Not that he remembers the 50's!
The "Get Along, Left Wingers" is an adaptation of a folk song:
You ought to see my Cindy, She lives a-way down South, And she's so sweet the honey bees All swarm around her mouth. Get along home, Little Cindy Get along home, Cindy, Cindy Get along home, Little Cindy I'll marry you someday.
or were you wondering who did the adaptation? 'Cause I am not sure.
In re bitchin'
This is Amurika, dammit, and yew have the right to bitch til your lips catch fire. Seriously. However, I always feel that free stuff is so great that I like it. A free toothbrush? Sure! A free plastic model of an echidna? Why not! A free bucket of mud? Neato! Gimme!
And of course, the only people listening to the podcast is us, and we are like dopey parents: we think everything our lil darlin's do is sooo adorable.

Mostly, yeah. I don't think I'd heard the folk song either, though, so thanks for that.
