Somehow i end up reading the whole thing and i have to say... I AGREE WITH YOU BIG TIME!! i'm actually surprise how disappointed i was with this drama! i especially HATE the sister (NOT the actress! she does a good job, even though you could see that she tries a bit too hard to be "cute" but then again, the "cute" is the "in" in Japan (i think) but i dislike her character!) This was one of the drama i was looking forward to too, but after seeing episode 1, i dl episode 2 and still haven't found myself wanting to watch it. I kinda wanted a type of drama where, even though the main character fail big time, he grows smarter in someway in each episode and i didn't really see that in episode 1. i guess i shouldn't be talking yet since i haven't even started on epi 2, but i just don't like the idea of the rest of the family involved in the mystery, i mean, okay, your brother's the detective, but that doesn't mean you get to see secret files because of that! AND! they're helping anyways, WHY CAN'T THEY BECOME COPS AND LEAVE POOR YOSHI TO HIS

You are not annoying at all, you're speaking your opinion and that is always a good thing.
And you are absolutely right, I was worried that people would forget about Ohno's drama to watch Aiba's because of the "cute" cat, but hell I don't even find the cat cute, he looks evil a lot of the time.
And I missed that point entirely, if they can take the time to try and figure out his case then why don't they become the detectives, you are right.

well, i think most of the characterization can't be help since its based on the original novel, but ya, i agree with your point abt aiba being pushed around too much. and i hate the way they depict the cat...WHY CANT THEY JUST HAVE GARFIELD RATHER THAN A HUMAN TURNING CAT -.- which spoils the whole drama flow when he/she (i can't decide) appear....
sometimes after watching an episode, i don't even know who solved the case -.- was it aiba or his bro or the cat...and in epi 4, it just seems like the case just solved itself (SPOILER! cuz everyone just died with only 1 person left, who is OBVIOUSLY the murderer)
I noticed in the previews if you watch closely the scene on the roof tells you who the killer is, not good editing by either the TV station or drama company, whoever is in charge of previews.
And yes, you are right, they telegraph when the cat is going to change and it throws the entire rhythm of the show off. When I first heard that Maximum Delux (forgive me if that's wrong) was going to be playing the cat I laughed out-loud, I thought it would really work, but for some reason it doesn't for me. I find myself cringing when the cat changes into human.
