I didn't present everything in my last post, guys. :) This is the bare-bones of a Hikaru no Go fic that I began writing in France. I won't say much on the subject (I just really hope that the background for this alternate universe is clear...), beyond the fact that I had fun playing with reversing Hikaru and Sai's roles... sort of.

This seems like a very interesting idea. You have a lot to work with here: the idea of spirits being recognized as beings with rights (not just restless spirits to be sent to the afterlife), the rights of mediums, Hikaru and Sai's relationship, etc. I remember thinking this was intriguing when I first read it but I forgot to comment.

Oh yeah, Sai's non-malignancy also interested me in canon, but note that he didn't hold a grudge, not even against the other instructor who framed him. He does get jealous of Hikaru a few times, but he tamps down on those feelings quickly. So I think it's partially his own very kind nature.

...an idea like this could be fruitful enough to work as an original.

Thank you for your comments! I really do want to work more on this one, if only so I can play with Hikaru and Sai dynamics. :3

And yep, poor Isumi... ;) I can probably use him and Kuwabara as a foil for Hikaru and Sai...

You know, I hadn't really thought of making this into an original storyline, but now that you mention it... Hmm... :3
