The image in the charmed mirror was unmistakable.
Hermione naked, intertwined during the throes of passion with another man. In their bed. How could she? The dinner in his stomach rolled violently, making him weak in the knees. It was sickening and cruel to make love to another man in the marriage bed.
It broke Severus' heart.
Without thought, Severus packed his belongings to leave. Nothing could explain away what he saw, or get the image out of his head. Minutes later, he was gone. The only trace of him was a note left by the mirror.
'Goodbye, my love...'
