St. Ives makes some good exfoliator, I think. They have two types too.. one thats SUPER fine for sensitive skin, and then another for normal with coarser bits in it. .. and remember, using exfoliators is only supposed to be done once a week or so.
Contouring powders.. you can actually try goin to MAC.. they have a bunch of neutral toned blushes.. like honour, prism, gingerly, harmony, taupe, strada ... MACPRO also has specific contouring powders
I feel silly for asking, but can anyone go into a mac pro store and buy things? I would trust their judgment a lot more than going into the mac counter at macy's, but the pro store has always intimidated me!
yes, anyone can go to a Mac Pro store and buy stuff. They offer more things than counters or Regular MAC stores.. there are 2 types of stores if you didnt know, Freestanding Stores, and then Pro, which carry even MORE stuff, but there arent too many PRO stores in the US. I dont think there is much difference in judgement when going to counters vs. stores. They should all be informed in products. If your talking makeup application-wise.. same thing, Ive been to the PRO store in SF where one of the workers had HORRIBLE sloppy goth makeup on and I was suprised cuz I too expected more from the PRO store. But yea, just go and they should help you out. =)
I like 3 Lab's gentle exfoliating cleanser. They use jojoba beads which are far gentler than nut shells/ husks. My skin is super sensitive and it does a top notch job.
and yes I like Nars powders but they are so expensive so I thought I'd ask about other options. if it turns out that that's the best one to get, I will just have to save up I guess :)
Online or at Barneys. Of all their products (which are Fantastic!) it's relatively affordable at $36; you use but a drop (1-2x weekly) so it will last.
My friend loves Bare Minerals products; haven't tried them yet.
haha wow does it really? I guess it would have been helpful to read the manual. I just assumed that if it were soft, bead like exfoliators rather than salt like ones it would be ok. but thanks for pointing that out!
Yeah, your mom shouldnt use an exfoliator with the brush because it might damage the bristles. I would suggest Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing gel. It is very gentle formula and contains latic acid to get rid of dead skin. That combo with the brush is amazing. You can find the Mario line at Ulta.
yeah, this is what most people pair with it. a lot of places even sell the clarisonic WITH purity made simple. and it's a good basic cleanser, much like cetaphil so if she likes cetaphil she shouldn't dislike purity.
