i applied a spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide a few nights ago, and now my face is dry/puffy/red in the spots where it was. its been like this for two days now. :\

anyone have any suggestions on what i should use to make it go away? i thought maybe some sort of natural mask may help? i've been applying cortizone, but its still there :(

problem: acne, benzoyl peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide did the same thing to me, ugh. Just try to keep it moisturized, other than that just leave it alone... it should go away in a day or two.

I think you should just leave it alone. Bothering it will probably make it worse. Don't cover it up with make up. Your skin will heal over time on it's own. If after a week or two it's still red, I advise you to see a physician. I had blotchy skin after using a new product and I tried all kinds of scrubs, lotions and medication on it, finally I went to see a doctor and he told me to leave it alone. Four days later it was gone.

The treatment might be too harsh for your skin or you're allergic to something in it.

It's most likely just dryness. Definately use a moisturizer.

That happened to me. I got this big rash-like patches on the areas I used the benzoyl peroxide... It was so painful and gross. I went to the doctor and got this prescription hydrocortisone cream which cleared it up after a day or two :)

You might be allergic, or it might be too high of a strength for your skin. My skin reacts poorly to benzoyl peroxide unless it's a very low percentage. To make it go away, time is your best friend, as well as babying your skin. I find that it goes away quicker if I keep the area well moisturized. You can also apply aloe to the spot. Good luck :)
