Checkbones

I have a very round face and I would like checkbones, plz. But I know naturally that can't happen, so I was wondering if there are any ways to use makeup as a way to make it appear that I have checkbones or slim down my face. Oh, c'mon, of course you have cheekbones!

Try using a bit of darker than your usual foundation in the hollow of your cheek and a streak of highlighter on top to create the illusion of light bouncing off them. It's tricky, but it works. Always remember to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND, as streaks of contour/ shadow look yuk.

The best way to highlight and define facial features like cheekbones is with Stila Contour Trio. You can buy in sephora. It comes in 3 shades to highlight and lowlight different parts of the ace depending what you want to conceal or highlight. Also here is the link to a video showing exactly how to use contouring. (Although they recommend their own brushes you can certainly get away with the ones you already own.)

Now, I'm a rebel and will just use eye shadow or bronzer to contour. The best two contour things that I use are a nice highlighter (I like stila's All Over Shimmer, Origins Halo Effect, and Bare Escentuals Radiance - Flawless Radiance is my favorite), and a darker color. I used to use a pressed powder or foundation that was two to three shades darker than me. I do the darker one under my cheeks (the hollow area), and sometimes I'll do around my nose area (to make it slimmer. I'm really obsessed with NOT hating my nose. I want a nose job like nothing else. this might sound super weird, but it's what helped me understand contouring - look at a human skull. Where there is no bone, or the bone recedes is where you want to fill in (this ( ... )
