I have recently come to the realization that I've neglected my skin a bit these past few years, as in skipping moisturizing sometimes and only ever using whatever cheap product I could find, and would like to change that

I'm gonna agree with the two previous comments here and say that I would not recommend Clinique. My skin is like yours, although I did not really have bad acne, but my skin is oily and I have a few scars and pimples. I tried Clinique products and they did nothing for me.
I would also suggest using Philosophy products (Hope in a Jar and Purity Made simple). But I highly recommend Clarins products. Their orange scrub changed my life. I rarely get pimples and my skin is so much smoother and my skin is quite balanced - not too oily or dry.
I use their orange scrub and their toner daily. They are a little pricey, but so worth it.
clinique is not good. please don't use it! it's all packaging and hype.
try gentle products targeted at sensitive skin and for starters, MOISTURISE. you don't need a different cream for every part of your body (face, eyes, hands, etc) just use your face cream on your eye area and hands! for moisturiser, pick one without silicones and mineral oil to be safe. but if your skin isn't reactive, you can be more lenient with the ingredients.
try cetaphil, cerave, sebamed, physiogel, LRP toleriane (good cleansers), Avene's normal range (not the cleanance or cold cream range).
try not to use products that are marketed for acne, those are very harsh and drying. avoid alcohols.
if you can, try to use oils to moisturise. cold-pressed, unrefined oils. like jojoba or rosehip. they're both really good for moisturising.
Another vote down for Clinique. Their Moisture Surge is just okay. It's not amazing, especially not for the price. Their acne products are incredibly drying. Really, though, I would highly suggest going to a counter at a department store and talking to one of the specialists to see if you can score a few samples. It's worth trying.
Purity Made Simple by Philosophy didn't work super well for me. It was mildly irritating to my skin. Their Hope In A Jar cream is pretty good, but the one with SPF is TERRIBLE. I do highly recommend their retin-a cream, though (Help Me or Rescue Me is what it's called). It's expensive, but a little goes a long way, and it made my skin look really bright and happy. It's one of the best retinol creams I've tried.
