easy formal hairstyles

I'm going on a cruise in a few weeks and I need help with doing my hair for formal dinners/pictures. My hair is very straight, won't hold a curl (I don't want to take a curling iron anyways), and generally slips out of however I have it done. I'm also not that talented in styling, like I can't even french braid my own hair, so I need something easy ( Read more... )

With hair as short as yours you don't have a whole lot of options. I think the twist is pretty good. Try the curl method at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYxS1ohz4Ao Heat doesn't curl my hair, but this does, even without product.

I'm awful with my hair too. I have a special quick style that I do to "glam" things up (kinda a special occasions one). I make two different parts over the highest parts of my brows. Then I take that middle section, twist the end, and clip it back. It ends up looking similar to this.

I love that look. I too am awful with my hair so for formal occasions that is what I usually opt for. And OP, you could adjust the height of that pulled back section to as low or high as you want.

I'm equally hair-unstylish so if all else fail I really love the twist and clip you did in the first pictures, esp if you can keep it looking so smooth :)
