+ I love the song "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge - but I hate the rest of your music - 'some college basketball team'? It makes you seem like somebody who buys it just because its popular + ROOS are awesome (im so out of practice on critiquing opinions...blegh) - along with marriages come rights that simply arent involved in a civil union, its not just the conjunction thats the issue + AIDS in Africa. One of my big concerns too, except general AIDS awareness is more my focus.
errr...completely even. Im going to have to go with undecided as of now. Convince me...elaborate a bit more on your fate answer. You said you believe in it only to a point, tell me what point that is, tell me about fate and ill give you an answer.
Before I elaborate, I wanted to clarify that I didnt buy the sweatshirt because it was "popular". I bought it cause it was $7.97 and I was really excited that I could get a sweatshirt for so cheap, haha.
I believe in Fate as to the point that I am a strong believer in God and that he has an overall plan for each of us. I think he has a general idea of what will happen to us, and although he lets us make our own choices and decisions, he knows in the end what we'll choose. I think a lot of people are wary of fate because they think that they are going to be vaccumed into a certain "destiny" that has been pre-determined, but in my mind, it is pre-determined because God knows us well enough to understand the paths we will choose in life. Sorry if that was confusing. I didn't elaborate before because I didnt want to get into the whole religion thing, but since you asked, I figured it was ok.
Ah yes okay. Although I dont agree, I was a Lutheran long enough to undersand that 'God knows us well enough to understand the paths we will choose in life' and I liked that you went into why you think people are scared of fate. So im going to go with a yes because its going to be interesting to have you in this community.
+ Come What May - But your bands, and the rest of your songs, seem to belong in the category of what 16 year olds stereotpyically like. I don't generally vote against people for their tastes, but I'm a little disappointed that there isn't a band in your list that doesn't have widespread acclaim. + I do like The Cider House Rules and To Kill A Mockingbird
Abortion: In instances of incest, rape, or if the baby will harm the mother, abortion should be considered, but otherwise, I'd consider it the same as murder. If, in all other instances, you would call it murder, how does it suddenly not become murder now that the circumstances are only moderately different? Moderately different for the fetus of course, hugely different for the mother. And how do you compare incest to rape? If incest manifests itself in rape, then it makes perfect sense, but incest normally occurs when both parties are willing. Granted, the baby may have medical problems due to having parents from the same family, but then you're advocating aborting the fetus

a) I'm impressed that you know who Her Space Holiday is...They're definitely not a "scene" 16-year-old band.
b)I really don't belong in this community. I'm sorry for applying. You guys are on an entire different mental level than I am. Please take that as a compliment. I thank you for the opportunity, however.

<3 Don't be sorry for applying... we love getting new people. And I doubt we're on a different mental level than you are, we just want you to think about/elabourate your opinions. If you still want to try, that's awesome; if not... well, it's a shame, but that's your choice. ^.^
Ah well, I tend to generalize to make a point, and obviously I'm not always correct. Her Space Holidy definitely does not have widespread acclaim, at least, not in the US, but they are embarking on a world tour, aren't they?
I don't necessarily think that we're on a whole other level than you are. The problem is just that most communities simply require an opinion in answer of the opinion questions and will beat you over the had if you give more information. But we like long apps. Or, fairly long apps. I don't vote yes or no depending on how an applicant's opinion compares to mine, I vote on what I can determine of what they're like, what they think and how they think it. And the only way I can see that is if you go into more detail, and explain your beliefs.
I hope you decide to change your mind, and continue with the application, because I think you'd be a really interesting addition to the community, even if you're not sure you belong here. In the meanwhile, my answer is yes. In case that wasn't obvious already.
YeslvlurderdollJuly 23 2004, 00:19:21 UTC
I hate to be so unelaborated and short but, your different, and you have opinions, stronger ones at some points but i think the only thing i really didn't like was probally your food and your evil:satan thing but i liked everything else and am i really gunna be a dick and say no cause i hate all the foods you like and some of your bands? haha I won't do that, but i do love the lyrics you choose to describe you and so my vote is for Yes.
