April Fools Event, Creepy Witch Edition

Apr 01, 2010 09:38

[A witch was becoming increasingly bored. It was then that the telephone started to ring...and did so a lot.]

Well, I suppose things like these are why in certain stories, people always go for the communication first.

[To the people who might phone]

Yes? How can I help you??

[...The phone was working again? He mistakes you as a secretary of some sort.]

It's Earl Phantomhive speaking. I'd like to have a word with Lord Randall.

With my words? To us mortals that is impossible.

There you go, then.

Don't be so sure. You have yet proven nothing.

Oh, I wasn't going to put much effort into proving something that is self evident. Say, can you do the reverse and prove that there are no witches?

Witches are only stories, creation of imagination. The easiest way for weak humans to explain something unexplainable.

You can't prove the existence of something that doesn't exist, but it's also rather hard to prove that creations of imagination do not exist. The only way to prove it, is to prove the others' claims delusional.

So tell me about these witches, and I'll prove you are wrong.

So, you are aware of the concept of the probatio diabolica, and even of witch hunting. Well done.

An entity has the power to enter different worlds, to make miracles come true as long as their probability is greater than zero, and cannot die. Wouldn't such an entity be considered a witch?

Depends on which of the legends your image of a witch is based on.

Entity like that could be considered as a witch, but the description fits to another characters of human imagination. Although I would say that immortality is impossible to achieve.

Oh, no legend, I simply listed my own traits.

Immortality is hardly impossible. There are certain bacteria that can survive millions of years, and there are animals that can regenerate organs, limbs, and even their head. Why, then, can these abilities not exist on a humanoid entity?

Yet immortality and being able to live long are different things. For example, a cockroach. Stubborn and clings to it's life, but there is always a way to kill it. Nothing is eternal.

Hmm, I do wonder.

[That brat already new a human like person who had such abilities.. but that person was not a witch.]

Oh, I have been killed many times. I still exist, however. Magic would be a reasonable explaination for such a thing.

But can you prove it to me?

If you really believe in that, perhaps you've gone trough a shock or you are just mentally ill.
