006 | [Voice/Action] Forward dated to morning

[Ever since the whole incident with Vash's creepy kid brother-turned-sister, plus the bastard who worked with him, Sanosuke's had a lot on his mind. He told Vash he'd wait to go after those two, and Sano intends to keep his word. The problem, though, is that Sanosuke knows he doesn't stand much of a chance even if he gets his shot. The closest ( Read more... )

[He'll just watch you growing more and more useless with working that console; Wolfwood figures Sano's from a place where such a thing didn't exist yet, but still-it's pretty funny to watch.

Ah, but we can't have him destroying it. :|]

...Need some help there?

[Don't think Sanosuke didn't notice you there looking all entertained, buddy. He might have been about to punch the console a little harder because of that, but no. Weird future machine is spared thanks to Wolfwood stepping forward.]

Yeah, thanks. I've never seen anything like this in my life.

[Wolfwood just goes ahead and joins the man's side, looking at the controls.]

My world didn't have much in the way of this, either, but I'm a quick learner.

What is it you're wanting to do?

[That? Is actually a very good question.]

To be honest, I don't really know. I need to get stronger somehow, and people said come here, but...

[Here, Sanosuke's voice trails off into silence. The problem isn't just strength in the physical sense. Not even close.]

You got any experience fighting really weird shit?

Ha, plenty enough, if you count giant robots and sandworms. I guess I've seen my share of crazy fighting.

[...Not what Sano meant. Or at least, he doesn't think so.]

What's a robot?

[Meiji-era confusion aside, however, if what this guy is saying is really true, then maybe he can offer some insight into Sanosuke's problem.]

What about guys that can force your body to move in ways you don't want it to? Or not move, I guess.

[Obviously, there's just no way in hell that'd fly past his radar. The air around them probably just got 40 degrees chillier, with the way he speaks.]

You ran into Legato?

[Well, there's more behind that-more like 'You ran into Legato and got turned into a human pretzel before?', but he was trying to keep this short.]

[And in similar fashion, Sanosuke also gets pinged by Wolfwood's question.]

Yeah. From the sounds of it, you have too.

[Although with very different results.] I didn't see him, but he was there during the experiment. There was this little girl, except she wasn't really. Anyway, she found out I knew this guy and tried to go away, and that Legato guy stopped me when I tried to stop her.

[And Sanosuke didn't mean for that all to come spilling out. Whoops.]

I haven't even run into anything close to that before.

I see... Typically, that little girl is a grown man-and that guy? He's his lapdog. Goes wherever he needs him. I'm guessing he found out you knew Vash, right?

You got it.

[Sanosuke looks over the guy for a minute, and decides he seems pretty straight-forward. Sano can work with that.]

Vash already told me the girl was really his brother, but only after I confronted him about it. The way he'd been acting before then was like he was trying to protect me. He even gave me a fake name, and I'm probably not the only one.

It kind of pissed me off at first, but I get why he did it. [Especially now.]

He doesn't want anyone to suffer on his account. [He draws a cigarette, sighing.] Knives will probably go after people that are close to him, so he's been taking as many precautions as possible.

Yeah. Like I said, I figured it out. He's a lot like a guy I know back home, right down to the vow not to kill.

[Sanosuke crosses his arms over his chest.]

So, do you know how to fight those guys?

Re: [Action] not_a_bluesbro February 17 2011, 08:01:19 UTC
... There's no way that I know of yet. Legato's capable of sensing people who enter a certain extended radius around him, and then when you get close enough he just forces you to the ground and mangles you until you can't so much as lift a finger against him.

[Wolfwood hates it. He hates it with a passion, but it's the sad truth. As far as he knows.]

And then Knives... well, if you can even get around Legato's obedience, he's extremely dangerous, too. He has the power to destroy whole cities... hopefully Luceti's brought down his powers enough, but even then, he'd be a hard guy to beat, especially without a long-range weapon.

[Everything Wolfwood said is pretty much exactly what Sanosuke doesn't want to hear. It's probably obvious too, from the way his frown deepens as the description goes on. Finally, when it's over and seemingly utterly hopeless, Sanosuke will hit the side of the console in frustration.]

Damn it. How's anyone supposed to fight against a couple of guys like that? [And by anyone he mostly means himself, though he's worried about Vash too. But Sanosuke hates standing by and feeling powerless, about as much as Wolfwood probably does when it comes to Legato.

So he'll hit the console a second time for good measure, leaving a good dent in it.]

As of right now? I wouldn't want anyone to risk fighting them; my hopes for them getting out of it alive is pretty low, to tell the god's honest truth.

[He puffs on his cigarette before breathing smoke around his words. He'd tell Sano to calm down and not break the machinery, but hell, it fixes itself the next day anyway. If he messes it up, it's his problem.]

The only real way I can say Legato can be killed... is to shoot him. If you can surprise him with a weapon like a gun-something long range-you might have a chance.

...I almost managed to kill the bastard here.

[But then that fucking moron Vash ruined it.]

[This day just keeps on getting better, doesn't it? Sanosuke lets out a laugh that's anything but cheerful.]

Shit. I don't even use a gun. Just my fists, really. I'm pretty much a street fighter, and the thought of changing that now doesn't sit right.

[At least not for a couple of bastards like Knives and Legato. Hell, Sano hadn't even changed for Saitou, and he at least respected that man.]

[When Wolfwood talks about being so close to killing Legato, Sanosuke decides to make a wild guess--only not, considering what he knows about Vash.]

So, what happened? Vash stop you before you could manage it?
