I.D. School board defeated

I was quite heappy to read this morning that the school board in Pensylvania that is trying to have Intelligent design (creationism) taught as science was almost entirely ousted by voters in the recent election. Actually in Kansas the existing school board voted 6-4 in favour of allowing I.D. onto the cirriculum. But who knows how the public will respond when their time for election comes up?

I still find it unfathomable that I live somewhere where I have to think about my students' anti-evolution beliefs when teaching the Scopes Trial & where putting a Darwin-fish (or a graven image of the FSM) on my car is a political statement of some meaning.

I'm thinking I should put a whole school of them on, in fact:

* Darwin
* FSM
* Gefilte
* Sushi
* Buddha
* Valen

that should cover my bases nicely.
