[Slugger is in his front yard trying to drive a pipe into the dirt with a baseball bat when he hears something near the mailbox.

At first glance, he mistakes it for a bear and freezes with his bat in his hands. However, it turns out not to be a bear at all, but in fact it's a ...beard? He's never seen this man before so he simply watches.]

[Watching. And then venturing closer. He will now demonstrate his obscure sense of "humor"...]

[He jumps at the sound of the voice. He's been here half a day and he's already being caught off guard? Getting killed again must have taken more out of him that he thought!]

Aagh! Oh! [clears throat] Well, hello there, young man! Why yes, I am in fact a male! Which would also make me a man, of course!

[Have a dopey grin for added effect.]

[Oh hi, Klaus, don't mind this complete stranger who is certainly not watching you out of the corner of his eye while rummaging through your mail, seemingly disappointed that none of these pieces of paper were anything remotely useful. After a few seconds of futile flipping, he finally acknowledges the other guy.]

You there! Perhaps you'd be willing to assist me! I'm new to this, er, settlement, and I am looking for a means to acquire a ship!

[It's kind of amazing that he figured out how to work the little red flippy thing and the mailbox door. Gold star for LeChuck.]

A water-bound ship, or an airship?

[LET THE CONFUSION BEGIN.]

Why, a sea-faring vessel of course! I don't know these "airships" you speak of, but they sound preposterous to me!

[Here's hoping he can goad you into explaining airships because HE MUST KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM THEY SOUND WONDERFUL.]
