Of course you could skip LA entirely and spend a little more time in SF. :) I think that coming to our town last may have been the correct decision however even if 3 days is a tad short. Keep the fondest memories fresh for your trip back home. Looking forward to the possibility of meeting you.

That's really rude and totally uncalled for.

I know the entire trip is short, but I am in Townsville until the 12th and have to be back before the 25th - that's an ambitiously short time to have a US trip, fly enough to make Platinum Elite Status and see everyone too.

I'll look forward to meeting you both!

Are you a glutton for punishment? That is a lot of air time. Flying isn't fun anymore. Airlines have ruined it with stupid decisions.

yes, we have been to San Juan. I don't know how good it is but there is a restaurant that is suppose to be the oldest in the Western Hemisphere.

You should see the EL Moro Fort. Other than that I am not sure. San Juan was OK. I was on a cruise ship so I cannot recommend a hotel. The old part of the city is the most interesting. The official Language is English and the official money is the US dollar but the whole place have the feel of Latin America.

I understand that there are people you would like to visit in the US. I hope you catch up with some of them. You know you are welcome in Denver (DEN).

Hugs to the world traveler.

I am a complete glutton for punishment, yes. Part of the reason is that I want to attain the highest elite status in the QANTAS program because I want to treat Russel to something later in the year. That's the reason for this trip - the SF/LA bit is tacked onto that.

And I will get to Denver. I promise.

I know the best spot to get a photo with the HOLLYWOOD sign without a lot of buildings cluttering up the view, if you want something so touristy.

If you like amusement parks and have already done Disneyland - why not one of the others in the area, like Knott's Berry Farm or Six Flags Magic Mountain?

Or ... perhaps a drive up Angeles Crest Highway to Wrightwood and lunch at the Grizzly Cafe? [Presuming CalTrans has the road open... *sigh*] Or perhaps a drive on Route 1 along the coast through Malibu and then back through the Santa Monica Mountains on Mulholland Highway? Just two options to see some of the natural beauty around the LA area.

Not sure what else to suggest, to be honest... though I do have this piece of advice: if you want to see a TV taping, I'd suggest looking into getting tickets NOW - popular shows fill up well in advance, in part because tickets to TV tapings are free.

We need to hang out this time!

The drives seem like fun - and that's probably more the sort of thing I'm looking to do. But if there's a decent Six Flags trip, I'm all for that too.

TV tapings? I have no idea - it's more an aspirational idea rather than really wanting to go to a particular recording. I'll think about that one more.

Your SFO dates work for me, though of course I'd love to see more of you... it's been too long! And if you need a place to stay Victor and I have a lovely guest room. The location isn't very convenient (Crocker-Amazon, on the southern edge of the city) but you can't beat the amenities.

Thank you - and I may yet take you up on that closer to the time! But mainly, I would very much look forward to seeing you again, Larry.

Yeah, I know - I keep promising that I'll come, and I don't. This isn't the only trip for this year - this is a mileage run to make it a bit easier on the next trip. There's another one coming - and Vermont would be very nice to visit, too, Steve. It would be great to finally meet you both.
