I haven't had but one group since starting EQ2 again. The one group I was in invited me while I was at the zone to Neriak, and they elected to stay outside and fight stone giants, so basically I was inside there soloing as well ( ... )

I -really- enjoyed EQ2, but after a month of wrangling with Sony to get it to work on a brand new computer designed to play EQ2, I gave up. I built a computer which was straight to spec, one of their test computers, and with all the latest drivers and bios from one single vendor (Asus). BRAND NEW with nothing on it but EQ2 and Sony couldn't tell me even after running it through their test lab why I couldn't play EQ2 without major major major graphical glitching. And this was working with their test lab, not the straight CS guys.

So, I enjoyed it. But I wasn't willing to suffer the nightmare of game stutter 24/7 - that is when I could get it to work at all.

Ironic therefore that with an iMac, a system not even designed for Windows, I'm running EQ2 better than I've ever seen before - without a spendy dual-GPU (or quad), or even more than 256mb of VRAM. It's an ATI X1300 and it has about a 2Ghz Intel Core Duo CPU.

I'm suspicious of Sony having some kickbacks from nVidia et al. to push certain graphics and CPU products.

I can suggest however that you try omegadrivers.net for alternative drivers that are meant for performance gaming.

I have a liquid cooled PC that you could have -- but you'd have to spend probably hundreds in shipping and packing charges to get it there, plus have to buy new coolant as you cannot ship these things with a full wet tank. The tank is a huge aluminum cylinder that cost me a lot in shipping charges just getting it from California to Texas.

Heh, as awesome as that sounds, I'm very happy with my current computer. :) Thank you for the offer.
