If I want a spare battery for my Virgin Mobile (Nokia) N10 Royale, it's cheaper to buy another of the phones and use the battery that comes with it than it is to buy the spare battery a la carte.
I won't feel guilty if I buy another phone, because I won't throw out the old or new one. If I lose or break the one I'm using, I can transfer service to the "spare" and still have 2 batteries.
Currently, battery outages are not a danger. When usage increases, I'll consider this tack.
