Use a vibrator; it's faster

Since it was only two weeks ago, some of you may recall me posting about this House/Wilson slash author:

"I...had an accident."I had no intention of sending people to pile-on when I posted that; I really just wanted to vent. And I felt sort of guilty for doing so, honestly, since it's really not my usual style to snipe at people in locked posts. ( Read more... )

people are idiots, house m.d., fandom

Oh, fandom. Haven't we already had a discussion this week about not making douchey comments in the Author's Notes?

I have teh_dumb today; I read this at the public library when I checked my mail there earlier, and spent most of this afternoon vaguely wondering what you could be referring to.

D'oh. I'll just be over here in the corner, knocking myself on the head with a hammer.

And I fail to understand why people do it (make douchey comments in the A/Ns, I mean). I don't know about other people, but that's one of the fastest ways to guarantee I pass over your story.

I clicked the comments link on this one, both apprehensively and eagerly awaiting another WANK about deathfic warning yes/no. I was disappointed. Almost no-one commented on her way out-of-line AN.

However, I decided that no matter how good her fiction might be (she's been pointed out to me as a good author a couple of times already), I won't read it. Because... what is wrong with this person?? In something like five comments, she felt the need to point out at least twice what a sarcastic and unfeeling person she is, and kept insulting people for no obvious reason.

Dear unfeeling and sarcastic person, insults do not equal sarcasm. And insulting people in order to manipulate them into reinforcing your view of your self, which is oh-so-unique and different... that's just pathetic.

Gah. Troll.

Exactly. I may say something yet, because I really just don't believe her:

DEAR FANDOM, ALLOW ME TO GRACE YOU WITH MY PRESENCE. WHICH IS JUST LIKE HOUSE'S PRESENCE, BUT LESS FUNNY AND MORE POINTLESS. SHOWER ME WITH PRAISE AND NOTHING BUT, OR I WILL MOCK YOU - CONDESCENDINGLY, AND WITH ILL-PLACED PUNCTUATION.

MY HEART FILLS WITH CONTEMPT FOR YOU. DEAR, DEAR READERS.

SO IF YOU CAN IGNORE YOUR PUTRID, PATHETIC LITTLE CONCERNS FOR THE MOMENT, PLEASE R&R!

Like...oh, just go away.

I'm not sure saying something would do any good. Because:

Quote:
I'm not really worried about insulting people. I've got enough people enjoying my stuff on numerous websites, that a few sensitive ones lost really wouldn't matter a whole lot to me. [ source]

Um. She's got people enjoying her fic on The Pit, I know that. People on The Pit will virtually enjoy anything. But not caring when people on LJ - LJ, as in MAJOR FANDOM BURG - are enjoying your fic... isn't that a little idiotic? I think it is.

Problem is, she stomps down on any attempt to reason with her. See this post click.

This thread almost made me chime in, but I really don't want to join this wank (any more than I'm already doing *gg*). It won't lead to anything...

curious (and a tangent) - where does the, "god doesn't limp" quote come from? It looks from the image that there is a citation under the quote, but I just can't read it.

Wondering if it's a House-ism.

It's not a citation; it's just a...scribble, I guess...which sorta looks like text, but isn't. (I've even had it blown up in Photoshop. It's definitely not text. Just some text-like brush or something.) It's a really popular thing right now on graphics...I probably have icons with that on it uploaded right now. Confused the hell out of me at first, too.

And yeah, it's a House quote from early in the third season. If you don't mind small spoilers:

House and Wilson have a fight over something Wilson keeps from House (thinking it's for House's own good). When House finds out, he confronts Wilson in the latter's office. Wilson says, "I was afraid your wings would melt."

And House says, "God doesn't limp." And storms out.

/SPOILER

P.S. I never managed to get to that post of yours to reply, but I saw that you watched some of S2! I'm glad you liked it; it's a good show. :)
