so, i've finally think i found the right college path for myself. i will probably only major in comparative literature, with a minor in russian and museum studies. i decided not to do creative writing to pursue more language classes, more specifically, portuguese, spanish, and russian. grad school will no doubt be a ph.d in comparative lit with the ( Read more... )

This reeks of your summer booklist in its audacity. Nevertheless, I support you. A classical education never hurt anybody, and in fact, reading some of these may well help you.

I'm a bit confused, though. Have you read the ones in the freshman list already, because if so, that's already quite an impressive list of works?

Also, since you're the Russian literary expert, I must ask you if you've read The Master and Margarita, which I just finished over vacation. If you haven't, I strongly recommend it.

I have indeed read the master and margarita. it is fantastic! i have also watched the movie in russian without subtitles, which was not as good as the book because i could only understand half of it.

AND THE BOOKS WILL HELP ME BE A BETTER STUDENT AND PERSON!
