In all honesty I should note that I left Operations around a decade ago, so I'm really an ex-Beam Jockey. But I shepherded particles for ten years before that, so feel I've earned the sobriquet.
Not long ago, the current operators threw a big picnic for everyone who's ever been an operator, and many who had left Fermilab returned. It was great to see graying teammates, retell war stories, and instruct the youngsters about how good they have it.
At the picnic, I learned that when I am gone, I will be remembered for the Twinkie Experiment, more than any other accomplishment.

Also, 'interests' IS a completely user-chosen, comma-delimited thing; interests that only one person has show up not-as-links, whereas interests you see on a userinfo page that are linky are posessed by at least two people.
