You know, I have a story that involves hard covers and the surprisingly limited load bearing ability of joists in older buildings. You checked the load bearing ability of the joists, right?

Your story may belong in the microscopic subgenre occupied by "Mr. Murphy of New York" by Thomas McMorrow, described here and also here.

In a strange way, your review reminded me of Misha's reviews for Science Fiction Eye, where she reviewed Card's Xenocide solely by dint of how well it held up under a chainsaw blade. It's good to see that this sort of review works just as well for raves as for pans.

I suspect that this review was also fair and balanced. (It's hard to carry unbalanced loads up stairs.)
