[It's the weekend, and there's no school. And since Lion's a teacher and he's already finished marking assignments, there really isn't anything to do. More specifically, there isn't anything around the house to read. So what does that mean? A trip to the library!

[A yelp as Lion quickly rescues a falling book.]

It got scared.

Does Lion need any help? [ her arms are ready to take half the pile from him ]

Oh, I think I'm--

[Ack gotta catch that book]

Actually, a little help would be appreciated, thank you...

[hwamei]

[ takes the books with ease. ]

But why do you need books on [ reads the cover slowly ] car repair... you're not a mechanic. You don't look anything like one, either.

[beamiracle]

Well, you're right about that...it's just that this was all I could find at the library.

[hwamei]

Whaaaat? That's strange. I thought the library was supposed to have a lot more variety. If you don't want to read it, you don't have to borrow it, you know.

[beamiracle]

So did I, but apparently this one doesn't.

I suppose not, but I think at this point I'm desperate enough to read anything.

[hwamei]

Ahh, so you like reading. What kind of books do you read? Me, I like, u-um... wuxia!

[beamiracle]

Wuxia? Is that so...

A lot of things, I suppose. I do like a lot of Western literature, though, but I think that's the result of my grandfather rubbing off on me.

[hwamei]

Your grandfather? So it runs in the family... What's he like? He must be really smart, like you! [ well, he looks smart, at least. ]

[beamiracle]

Well, he is smart...unfortunately, the years haven't been kind to him.

[In other words, he's kinda crazy.]

But he worked hard to build up his wealth with his own two hands, and I respect him for that.

Ooh, I know someone just like that. You could say he's my grandpa, too, but he's super cranky. Is yours like that?

Yes, he does have unpredictable moods. The rest of the family tends to be a little afraid of him...

Oh, you do? Who would that be? [Although Lion already has an idea of who Taiwan is talking about...]

People call him China, but he's just a dinosaur.

[beamiracle]

Ah, China. Yes, I've met him, and he did remind me of my grandfather.
