I spent the rest of the series bracing myself for someone to say, "Surprise! You're half-siblings!"
OH MY GOD. It didn't even occur to me that it was a possibility! *shivers retrospectively*
As his story was one giant angst fest with some amputation and brainwashing thrown in for good measure, it seemed like the logical tragic ending.
I expected a tragic ending but not the one we got! I thought at some point that Peeta wouldn't make it as well, but I never thought Prim wouldn't. And FINNICK :(( I had to put down the books for 20 minutes when he died because I was so in shock.
I saw the first movie before reading the books so I couldn't really compare the two. I would have to see it again, now I've read the book.

I know! It's been a while since I've been surprised by how something ends. While it broke my fannish heart, I still loved it. But Prim and Finnick D: Both times, I had to stop and go back and reread it because I was all, "Wait, no. I must have read that wrong..."
