Whooohoooo - hey, you jetset girl! Great hearing from (((you))) again.

Will you be coming to Germany, too?

*hugs*

Yes we are coming to Germany, but only to Kassel. A bit disappointed that it's only the one place and that it's Kassel...was kinda hoping for Berlin or Munich or one of the bigger cities! At some point in the planning we were going to be playing at a festival in Berlin, but it didn't work out.

Shall write further details soon!

Yeah, Kassel is not exactly the place-to-be in Germany, though it's not so ugly, only somehow provincial. They have a big bi-annual art exhibition there, the Documenta, that's what Kassel's most famous for. Berlin, Munich, Hamburg or Duesseldorf would have been more interesting and exciting, but hopefully you'll have a nice time there nevertheless. Check out the Italian icecream parlours (Eisdielen), guess there should be some of them in the car-free center of the town (Fussgaengerzone). In summer, and we are supposed to have summer now *coughcough some time all this rain will come to an end, it simply must*, there are plenty of restaurants and cafés where you can sit outside and that's quite nice.

That's pretty much what the cellist from the Henschel Quartet (from Munich) said to me earlier this year when I did a week of masterclasses with them.

Except he left out the bit about the icecream parlours...yum yum!

With a bit of luck after I've finished my current undergrad degree I might head over for further study in Germany...or atleast, that's what my teacher is kinda pushing for (as that's what she did). So there shall still be plenty of time for exploring Germany in the future!

Ah, I seemed to remember that Europe thing but didn't know when it was...

Are you coming over in Paris?

Unfortunately no :(

We'll be in France, visiting Aix-en-Provence and a few other places in the south, but nothing mainstream. (Same deal with Germany unfortunately, see comment to Io above)

Gewandhaus in Amsterdam

Are you sure that's in Amsterdam? I've never heard of it, nor is that a Dutch name for a building either ;) Google seems to name Leipzig as the owner of the Gewandhaus...

*smacks self about the head repeatedly*

This is what happens when you read orchestra forums at the same time as trying to write an entry.
Gewandhaus is in Leipzig, what I meant was the Concertgebouw.

Me = silly :D

Shall have to consult you about decent places to go (and stay away from!) when in Amsterdam, as we'll be there for a few days at the beginning of the tour...
