Oh John, you are such a lamez0r. Is it cruel of me to say I love to see you suffer?

John groans, low and longing, deep in his throat and whispers Rodney’s name in a voice that makes Rodney’s heart try to do several things at once; beat harder, break and grow three sizes.
Gave me chills and shivers from my chest to my toes. Seriously. Tingles.
And the cold hands... As someone with whose hands go cold for all kinds of reasons - nervous being one of them - that's such a perfect detail.
*hugs you hard*
From His slouching seems forced to Ronon and Teyla to John finally asking: I loved every word of this, and I'm going to reread it again right now.
(Especially John asking - seriously, are you channeling my own emotional inadequacies directly into the character?)
Thank you so very much. What a wonderful gift.

Didja see how I worked a little teeny biblical ref in there for the two of us?
::goes and sits quietly in corner, all pink and pleased::
You are very, very welcome.

It's Naomi and Ruth!!!
That is the absolute perfect biblical reference for those two. Oh, my heart.
And the THERMAL UNDERWEAR! I forgot to mention it! It's so real, and funny and heartbreaking and Canadian all at once.
I really truly love it.

Well, he looked so small and fragile and cold, and Rodney actually wanted to do weird stuff like bring him cocoa, or wrap him up in a blanket and why he had no idea he loved John until right up at the very end I DON'T KNOW.

So, the elk head was in his room, and from what I imagine, Rodney had had enough of being disapproved of and being wrong and selfish and not humble enough and that elk was looking at him all disapproving and he thought he wanted this and he thought that Jennifer loved him, not the fixer upper he could be and the elk ...as they say, was asking for it. So, he opened his bedroom window and out it went.
And then he stomped downstairs and very calmly told Jennifer that he was sorry, that he cared for her a great deal, but his home was Atlantis.

And yes; Rodney is not a fixer-upper, he's a work-in-progress, which is something else entirely.
I loved this story a lot. It's going in my memories.
