Though work continues at a breakneck pace, I was able to take the evening off last night to go to the NIN concert. Absolutely phenomenal, both in performance, set, and effects; a perfectly balanced and thoroughly entertaining machine that went far, far beyond my expectations. I have often remarked that I am never happier than when "up to my ass in alligators". I prefer my alligators to be less metaphorical than yours, maybe, but the idea is the same.

At my age there are a certain number of regrets and concerns that can really get in the way of day to day operations, and I have yet to attain the discipline to make them line up in appropriate order of priority. If I stand still too long I drink too much, gain weight and start hurting both psychically and physically. I hope to have this figured out by the time I'm 50; a relatively generous deadline even for something as difficult as this.

Within a week of meeting our curator, I had assured him that I was happiest when up to my eyeballs in alligators. I am, however, shorter than you, so I imagine this makes up for the difference in total alligators. Remember, my upbringing afforded me the opportunity to confront a good number of such creatures throughout my childhood. But those gators weren't even remotely pendulous with metaphor.

Just recall that we are never given more alligators than we can handle.
