A/N: My tag for the 100th episode. Later that evening, Booth finds out that Brennan isn't feeling sad anymore. She's livid. A very different interpretation of that last scene. Many thank yous to
sweetjamielee for her wonderful help with this!

Booth was roused from his scotch-aided doze by an insistent pounding on the door. )

"I'd use the key under the fake rock, but it appears that you've removed it," she said, loud enough for the rest of his building to hear. Well, there goes that hiding place. "I know you're there. Open the damn door!"
Two things: 1) The urgency inherent in her words is just perfect. 2) The interjection of his thought about now having to change the hiding place... that little bit of irritation and disbelief ♥ it
If you love me as much as you say, then why do you insist on wooing me with that kind of jargon? Why do you keep trying to change me to fit your idea of an appropriate mate?"

It captures each of them so perfectly; Brennan's take charge nature once she's had time to process everything that's happened and Booth's reactions to that nature mesh together so well here. She's railroading over him the whole time and he's so enamoured with her that it makes me melt.
I don't believe that you couldn't have figured out how to explain this to me. <\i> You totally hit the nail on the head, there. Booth knows her well enough to know how she would react to his words. He needed to put it into her language, not his.
So she did it for him, and the moment he realizes they're thinking about the same things? Perfect.
Reading this makes me feel better about the whole situation. Lovely job!
