Oh Susan. Oh Mary. Wonderfulness abounds. I admit my favorite is that Mary does indeed dance wildly with the Maenads but never admits it in the morning. As with the Tardis and the Wardobe, Mary's carpet is the same -- something that is bigger on the inside than on the inside. No, Bert is not Mary's beau -- they merely dance together with the Maenads. I am delighted that this is up after hearing of it so long. My sincere <3 to the three of you for this delight. It is wonderful and just a little edgy and not quite completely polite because of course Mary Poppins appears very polite, but she is friends with Bert and with Menads, and everyone knows blue jays are dreadful scolds and flirts, and one's skirts do blow about when the East wind blows ( ... )

Oh, I adore this. I admit I will probably never be over Susan crossovers; there is just so much to be said in her story, and theirs. Your characterization of Mary is wonderful- she really is the sort that would dance with the maenads in the night and never talk about it in the morning, because she does so firmly deny everything wild that she does like that. The stark contrasts of her character are ones that Susan also contains, and would have trouble making peace with, so I'm happy to see the two of them together, so that Susan knows how to live with all the things in her life.

Oh my LORD, this is pure, absolute genius. What a match made in heaven.

Mary Poppins doesn’t take her into pictures drawn on the sidewalk or into magical wardrobes but that's fine, because Susan and Mary just drink tea and talk of sensible things, and sometimes of big things and sometimes of small things, sad things and curious things, and Susan says to Mary oh that is a darling scarf and Mary says thank you. They talk about the fashions of the day for they both like to be well-dressed, and like to take care of their looks.

FRABJOUS DAY!

I think my favorite part is Mary Poppins complimenting Susan on her posture. Because if Susan were on rags on the street, she would still be able to hold her dignity about her.
