My job amuses me ...

I work at a UPS Store. I lift heavy boxes for a living. I can lift 80 lbs (~36 kg) off the floor with very little struggling.

It amuses me greatly when a guy comes in with a 40 lb (~18 kg) box and says, "Be careful, it's heavy." And then I lift it like it weighs nothing.

I remember this one time, I was rushing for my flight and had to take a cab to the airport. I had my backpack on which was roughly around 20kg I guess, plus it was on my back so no trouble there. The cabbie was hanging out near the buses when I asked and he got concerned for me (I was late lol) and led me running to his cab parked about half a kilometer away. not that far, but it was a bit of a run.

see, I'm not fit. I'm a hospital regular, family history of athsma/respiratory illness and I don't work out as much as I should (because instead, I sit and read fics every chance I get lol). But I'm barely panting. This dude, prolly mid 30s, ideal weight and all, sits in the seat for a minute trying to throw up his lungs and have a heart attack. he stares at me, still trying to catch his breath and goes

"ARE YOU IN THE ARMY??!!"

sometimes the younger cabdrivers try to flirt, make lame passes and all that. needless to say he kept to himself most of that ride hahaha
