Yay! Since I'm lucky enough to live in Europe right now, I ordered CW from amazon.uk and took delivery on Tuesday (in fact the package was there when I arrived from the airport). It was also "on" on the plane, so Kidlet and I watched it on her screen, sharing my set of noise-cancelling earphones. Being a Marvel nerd is apparently genetic...

Meta? Well. I will tell you my very darkest suspicion. The fact that Tony mentioned Clint's family in the Raft prison -- where all interaction is recorded -- BEFORE he knocked out the audio, will have repercussions in Infinity War. Not good ones, I fear. :-(
We may see Hawkeye turn Ronin yet ...

On the positive side, I LOVELOVELOVE the relationship between Clint and Wanda. Some people characterize it as "Hawkdad". but I rather see it as him having taken Pietro's place (as far as that is possible) as her bro. From him protecting her, to her telling him he's pulling his punches. Like, she's the MCU's Kate.

she's the MCU's Kate. You got my brain turning over with this one, because at first I was thinking, no, that doesn't work. Because comics!Clint isn't Kate's brother, he's her mentor, and then she kind of looks after him in return when he's being a human disaster. BUT. MCU!Clint could be seen as Wanda's mentor and in a way she's seen more shit go down than him in her life, or more weird shit at least, so she could in return be his guide to that... And with things like telling him he's pulling his punches. I think in a way she could be more blunt - if that's the right word - with him than Natasha. She's more openly honest, I think ( ... )

Well, I think the Wanda = Kate approach works because of that "you have stuff to teach me and I respect you, but I am SO TOTALLY aware when you screw up and have no compunction about pointing it out" aspect. And yes, they both have a fair bit of trauma in their background, and re-made themselves from the ground up. So, all in all a relationship I really need to explore at some point! :-)

But first, Clint and Pepper and Rocket Raccoon, post CW. Coming to a website near you very, very soon... \O/

I posted a Civil War rec list over on my LJ earlier this week if anyone wants fics. I'd love some more fic recs and some art recs! Haven't seen much Civil War fanart yet (but then I don't venture onto tumblr and I think that's where a lot of the art lives?)
