So, if you’ve seen the film, what were your thoughts?
After "Age of Ultron" (which made and still make my cry for so long now [because of Pietro for reasons!]) I was totally unsure about it. But the trailers made me laugh. So I hope the movie will also. And, it really did. I think this is now another feel-good-movie for me. The scene with Wasp made me cry. But after all I left the cinema with a big smile. *-* (Probably also because of the scene with Bucky. BUCKYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! *LOL*)
Did you like Scott?
Totally, yes. ;D I also think you really can see what kind of person he is when he get back into the houses to give all the stuff back he stole in the first place.
Are you excited, at least, that we hopefully get Hope in future MCU movies?
She was okay but I didn't care much about her. It would be cool to see her again but I wouldn't cry if she would not. :o)
Was THAT cameo the best thing about the movie?Do you mean Stan Lee? If yes: It was okay
( ... )
I liked AntMan. It's light and fluffy, and didn't aim for anything more. What it did seem like to me was a bit of connective tissue between AoU and Cap3, and in that it succeeded. That scene with Sam at the Avengers' facility? And Peggy? And "if they're not busy dropping cities out of the sky?" Nice. Bit like fanfiction, really!
I didn't swoon over Hope either. Does that make me a traitor to my sex? But I just didn't find she was all that well fleshed out as a character (nobody was, really, except Scott). My favourite by far, actually, was Luis, the crook with the heart of gold and the IQ of a cucumber, who went totally gaga over getting to be one "of the good guys". I can just imagine him wandering into an op with Black Widow and Hawkeye...
Yes! I really liked Luis! The character reminded me a lot of Merton from Big Wolf On Campus, digressing from the subject and being super excited to just know someone "special". I love love love that his family goes to wine tastings and art galleries in their spare time. :)
I think Hope would have been done more justice if they had revealed more about her relationship with Hank. The original Ant-man Hank was a dark, angry dude. It reflected in his tactics and in his personal relationships outside of work. That head-slam against the conference table was the tip of the iceburg. How much did Hope witness as a child? It has to be considered if we want to examine the tenuous relationship they have now, and that is the main context we see here in the movie. I just don't know if the MCU really wants to. What makes me sad is that the movie seriously sets up a Wasp movie, but it is missing from the list for the next however many years. :(
I really enjoyed Ant Man. AoU kind of...I walked out going, "I guess that was ok? Sort of?" and realized it has just pretty much left no impression on me. This was such a quality bit of fluff. I think it would have been improved if the Wasp reveal had come in the way of Hope donning the suit and coming in at the final battle, because this really was a movie where she could have been the central character and I bought the justification at the same time as I would have preferred things done differently. I hope she appears, and I hope the tease about the first Wasp being freed from the quantum zone is true. As a whole, the movie made me laugh and I walked out happy.

It wasn't the best Marvel film for me, but I enjoyed it. It was a good laugh. I appreciated Cassie's lines (I hope you don't catch him) and the whistling (It's A Small World, ha) and Sam's scene was hilarious. It was a bit light on the ladies - yes, we had Hope, but that's kind of it and she seems...deliberately pushed back so that at the end we can have the reveal that yes, you too can be a superhero with a vagina *shrugs*. Shame we didn't get Jan. But yes, fun.
Y'know, I wasn't really thinking about where Nat and Clint were during this, but now you've asked it... Nat's training with the New Avengers right, so when Sam says, "Cap can never know about this." Well. Either Natasha's listening in, in charge of the base whilst Steve's away Solider hunting, or Natasha's with Steve or on her own mission but she will find out about this shit, Sam, because she knows everything. And then she may blackmail you into cooking her scrummy food. Or pratiscing air catches that make even you terrified. Or maybe she'll just let it hang over
